Icon5 Coming Soon - Gibraltar Scenery

    Hi Good People,

The Ford Tri-Motor Project team is continuing to work furiously on Scenery which seems to be our focus at the moment - on the back of the Cape Town Scenery and the Alaskan Scenery we are getting near the final stages of a NEW Gibraltar scenery pack.

The flavour of our rendition is of course to bring it back to a 1930's era - so some serious redevelopment of the Gibraltar AB airfield and the creation of a dedicated Sea-Port for ships and active AI aircaft.

The first obvious thing that needed to be done was to create a Rock of Gibraltar model - I would have thought it would have already been in the sim as a default landmark - but alas - no such luck - so into the modelling tools and created one - tried to do an acceptable rendition - check the pictures.

Again I blame Ed for this venture :-) - he comes up with the ideas and the other half of the team - me - creates the items and area to accommodate his ideas. Good Teamwork - been at it for a couple of years and we both are pretty much in sync now.
Lots of little things to be tweaked and finalised but all should be done by the weekend.

    Anyway - some preview shapshots.

This Scenery package put us well into the 20's for the number of FREE scenery packages that are available at the Ford Tri-Motor Project

Feel free to pop on over to the site and check out the many hundreds of Free downloads and the growing bucket of scenery projects - some very unique things in there - such as airfields within mountains - historical Ford Factory Airfield and many many more.

Regards and happy simming to all.

    Hi,

I think I sorted things out right, but I couldn't find the SA scheme....as an aside how do you find a fictional airport, as it won't appear on the map or in the airport list?! I may have the wrong end of the stick of course.

Icon5 Ships for the Gibraltar Scenery

    For Hern07,

Ed and I both concurred with your suggestion so I have added an appropriate fleet (Royal Navy) and of course they are of the era that we are working on.

Included in the fleet are - HMS Hood (New Model) - 4 Destroyers - (2 Artic Camo) (2 Navy Greys) - 2 Corvettes and 3 Cargo support ships - nice little fleet of 10 ships
