Here is a more or less unsung aircraft hero ... have no seen many decent panels for it around....
Here it is... a Flotille 17 member in French Indochina ....
there are a few very fine liveries for the 1956 Suez intervention for the Aeronavale...
but must find a nice AU 4 -7 model to do it justice... (freeware of course....)
cheers
Lamenting his untimely passing, here is a redo of his panel for his C6 N1... which,
among other things, is a real work of graphics art given the fact he showed how
much can be accomplished within the constraints of 256 colors and very small,
FPS-friendly, textures...
AndyG43,
I got working on the Alpha Bleu Ciel Corsair... tweaking the paint job... and it has fantastic possibilities,
I've started making a template amenable to different schemes... and getting started on a complete repaint
in other colors for more repaints on AU1s too...
Here's my first effort on the AU7:
Continue working on the Alpha Bleu Ciel Corsair... tweaking the paint job... and, as I said before, it has fantastic possibilities,
Here is the first template amenable to different schemes...
a last view from the rear...
Before I get back to rejuvenate more 2D panels... a quickie USN early Corsair...
Just got done doing a tweaking of the finish on the legendary Gary Smith opus on
Warwick's old AT-6...
I found 3 mapping problems... I would like to resolve to render a nice overall finish...
1. need to find out where the starboard landing gear strut door is located on which texture... (it appears transparent with the overall shiny gamma so it needs masking)
2. ditto for the exhaust pipe... cannot put a finish on it cause it is not marked on a texture...
3. also, the mg fairings astern the engine cowling... [got the one for the air intake abaft the cowling]
I think I got a pretty convincing bare metal finish... (need to refine it yet, of course) but no sense working on it if the above issues cannot be resolved...
Thanks anyone for any counsel...

Just got done doing a quick tweaking of the finish on Ito's AT-6 G
In view of its age... it still can undergo some tweaking in the finish and render a
quite acceptable model... especially being freeware...
It is obviously not up to the present quality of payware models... but... in my
view, a lot can be done with it... especially in terms of colorful liveries
I am going to work on making a more convincing bare metal finish playing with the
gamma and going to translate it into DDS textures...

Here is a screen shot of the WIP...
Need to add a control stick... and a few more refinements...

Working on some USAAC liveries to go with this panel... Here is one of them...
Need a picture of what PR mission tally marks look like... before I do the other ones....
more lively... with some nose art too... Unfortunately... the photos I got are not clear
enough to see what those tally marks look like... the lettering of the nose art I can
do... but...

Got a clearer picture... and those tally mars are red crosses...
[also corrected the pics posted earlier that had transposed wing markings - senior moment I guess]
all is well now.... lol
Reworked the textures a bit on this Avro tutor...
Very interesting because the doped fabric areas shading is part of the model... and very well shaded as
to permit very easy repaints... just change colors, add volumetric shadowing and shines... and voila'...
Unfortunately, there are just a very few snags on the fitting together of some of the tail assembly parts...
but excellent otherwise...
Total rework of the textures of a freeware model full of possibilities...
In this one the doped fabric areas shading is not part of the model... the shaded effect must be
done by hand...
Unfortunately, there is a minor snag in the longeron in midfuselage is built into the model and thus
basically impossible to shape realistically with shading...
but excellent otherwise...

The Pembroke recently added is another great little freeware model... with a REALLY poor
panel rendition... so I decided to do the aircraft a little justice with a nicer bmp...
works just fine with the existing config file...
As usual... available for the asking... just PM me...
While I was at it, I thought I'd tweak the paint job a bit...

Just got wind of a fantastic Cessna Bobcat (freeware!!!) for FSX.... it inspired me to do
a nice realistic 2D panel - for the existing one for FS9... which has a rather basic one -
the one coming out seems to have a "super duper" VC that will need no repaints!
This one I've done surely improves what is extant for FS9...
As usual, this original texture is anyone's for the asking...
Cheers,
G.
p.s.: Shessi... let me know what you are up to...
Downloaded a pretty decent P-38 by Bruno... and just could not resist doing some
surgery... a clear case of "res ipsa loquitur"...
enclosing the original... the thing speaks for itself as the lawyers say...
Cheers,
G.
p.s.: Shessi... let me know what you are up to with the 410... and did you ever finish the He 115?
Hi G,
Well the 410 is just about finished but still have to liaise with Chris about a few things first.
I did email you back re-a modded panel, as the old one is not useable as is, due to height of the cockpit up the screen. I roughly re-vamped it and fired it off to you...let me know.
Re-115, like the new panel pic. I will get to the 115 sometime soon, but so many projects.....so little time....aggg!!
Cheers
Shessi
