    Just spotted the same vid on another forum. Cool...but stupid. If the R22 had lost it's engine power when he was over the trees he'd be in deep doo doo.

    Well, I understand the sentiment.
    I admit I questioned the judgement too.

    But one can argue a helicopter is designed to hover, after all.
    Whether it be over a landing pad for a landing or taking off, rescue at sea over a sinking ship, or plucking an RC plane out of a tree top.
    Statistically, power loss is usually a very low factor for causes of helicopter accidents.

    Would I fly/learn from this IP?
    Probably not, I know I'm a "by the book" kinda guy.
    And I don't tolerate 'second hand smoke' all that well anymore.
