Well, that's me out I guess...3. Competitors must have a basic knowledge
Intel i9-13900 Raptor Lake , Be Quiet! Dark rock slim cooler, 32 Gb Corsair DDR5 RAM, MSI Z790 Tomahawk motherboard, Asus RTX 4060Ti 16Gb, Thermaltake 1050 Watt PSU, Windows 11 64-bit 1 m2, 4 SSD, 2 HDD.
Intel i5-10600K 4.10 GHz 12 Core CPU
Asus ROG Strix Z590-E Gaming LGA1200 Z590-E Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory
Water Cooler - CORSAIR iCUE H100i RGB PRO XT
Corsair 850W PSU
MSI RX580 Radeon Armor 8Gb
Windows 10 Home Premium 64
3 x 21" Acer LED screens
FR Super Cub Ultra is on the approved 'bush class' list, so it should be clear which plane to take to the competition. Other planes have no chance whatsoever
Interesting the Aerosoft Wilga is not on the list. I sent a note suggesting the CH BF-108 Taifun...that thing will almost compete with the J-3 when lightly loaded. In the RV, I wonder if you set the fuel load to 1/4, set pilot weight to that of an anorexic midget, it might get up pretty quickly lol.
Cheers

OT: I had the opportunity to make the acquaintance of a 'Dwarf', or little person as some refer to them as about a month ago. When I first noticed his size, I was like, huh? Then I thought to myself, OK, why not.
As time passed throughout the day I got to physically 'meet' this person and shake his hand. Great guy. Like most people he was very easy going with a 'happy-go-lucky' demeanor.
I'm 5' 11". He was 3' 9". A little awkward looking down when we were conversating, but a very neat person all around.
This looks like something I'd be interested in. This weekend isn't good, but I think I'll register for future events. Various competitions would bring the on-line piece back in vogue.
Basic Flying Rules: "Try to stay in the middle of the air. Do not go near the edges of it. The edges of the air can be recognized by the appearance of ground, buildings, sea, trees and interstellar space. It is much more difficult to fly there."
Good-day,
An update to this thread;
The Event is taking place on Saturday the 13th. Registration is now closed for this event, however, we assure you the 'weeding' process will probably be a bit lighter on our next event. We are teething on the whole structure, and setup of such a diverse group. The good news is, we are having an absolute blast, and meeting some really great people, and pilots alike.
A2A Simulations is generously providing prizes, and from talking to the guys, it looks like there is already some fierce rivalry taking place!
The STOL bird of choice seems to be the Flight Replicas Cubs, either the Ultra, or the Experimental 210hp. Take note of the preliminary practice results;
Practice results from Sat. the 6th posted HERE.
'Teaser' Screenshot gallery of practice, HERE.
The event this upcoming Saturday will be broadcast LiveStream. It begins at 1200 Pacific Time.
Any input from the SOH community is highly valued. Please chime-in with your observations, comments, and criticism. FASA staff members have been working pretty hard to see that this event takes place smoothly, with much enjoyment for those involved.
Best of the best to you all!
Joseph
