    Ice Pilots

On watching Ice Pilots there was an episode that the senior pilot retired, whit a big celibration with firetrucks spraying arc's of water over the DC 4 (I think) as he taxied in for the last time.
At the end of the show it had his picture with I presume was his birth and death (2012) dates. I can't remember his name but did he die ,and anyone know of what?
The last thing he was doing was training water bomber pilots for Buffalo Airways. Thanks

Arnie Schreder. He died last month. I guess he's been retired for a while, because I read someplace else that he came out of retirement to fly the DC-4 for the Dam Busters NOVA special, and that aired last year sometime.

I really like the Flying Wild Alaska show. Amazing how those small planes cope with the weather they get up there!
