A message for all CFS2 devotees...though small we are

    Hey friends,

I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to all of you. I'm not sure if many of you pay attention to some of the other forums, but I can't say enough about the lack of soap opera drama that exists in this forum and amongst our group about 98% of the time. We may have our squabbles, but whenever anyone seems to release a product or needs advice, there is at least someone who says thank you or answers the bell.

When issues are brought forth, it's most often done in a polite manner. I can't speak for Jagd and Devildog, but at least for me, I don't have to spend a lot of time playing sheriff, and am more than happy to chip in advice or help you search for things you can't locate in the library. (Though let's not trudge down that road...)

Plus, the time I'm not spending having to settle disputes and intervene, I can work on missions instead. So once again, let me just reiterate that I appreciate the good nature and pleasantness of this forum. It makes the basement a nice place to hang out.

    Thanks for listening,
    "Rami"

    sc7500,

Your response made me laugh...I needed that today. Being at home on February break isn't a break for me...it's a chance to work on the honey-do list.

    Addendum

I just spent 15 minutes reading the hitherto-unnamed forum entry mentioned by Rami above....

To be fair, we do have a few "reformed rivet counters" in the basement - but they have learned to make their criticisms known in PM, rarely in public forum... Fortunately we also have independent developers who aren't afraid to tell critics to step up and fix something Themselves if they don't like it.

I'm sure we've all flown a newly-minted A/C that wasn't a 'perfect fit' to our taste; In most cases, a PM to the builder was all it took to find resolution and even an occasional personalized adaptation.

[Hey - What Do You EXPECT For FREE ???]

I'm quite comfortable with 99.9% of the people I work with here in the Basement, and have no just cause to criticize their efforts. Until I can build something from scratch and present it as my own, I will be more than happy to say "Thank You Very Much" and carry on.

    :salute:

    Hear, hear Rami. Well said.

This is probably the most comfortable, the most helpful and the most civilized forum that I've ever been party to.

    Hi,

I must admit, being able to shoot down enemy planes named after your wife and students can be theraputic.

I don't post much but I do enjoy reading the discussions and I have learned a lot here. It's one of the few places where I don't feel uncomfortable asking for help.

I am amazed in the amount of talent that there is here at SOH, not just with CFS2 but the other simulators too.

Thanks to everyone that have made my hobby more enjoyable.

That's a good one... I never thought of that.

Respect for other people's opinions and feelings is the name of the game.

Ever since I opened SOH's CFS2 page for the first time ten years ago, I felt immediately accepted and I since received a thousandfold times more than what I gave. I haven't got enough time in my life to visit many other flight sim dedicated sites, since SOH was the very first one I found following a link from Simviation, the welcome I received made me elect SOH as THE CFS2 website for me. I never visited other forums since, I only downloaded somewhere else whatever I couldn't find here, not interested in their forums.

I recently joined Lindsay Watts' website because I respect a lot all the scenery objects work and other things Lindsay did in the past. Besides, a CFS2-dedicated website is increasingly becoming a rarity on the web for obvious seniority reasons of this incredibly flexible MS product, something I cannot say about many other MS products I encountered in my profesional life.

What makes this forum really outstanding is that friendship born on these pages did not limit only to uploading addons and giving tech advices. It arrived to support many of us, including me, during tough phases of our lifes and to the wonderful experience of meeting personally some of the members as I had the privilege this past January.

I consider this forum is an example of how world disputes should be settled for a real peace-minded future, I only hope it will continue to stay active for years to come.

    Cheers!

I don't say much, but this my virtual home away from home. I've enjoyed my stay here for the past 10+ years.
