Yea, I like the way in the ETO Bf 110 when you take off, with the Flaps set at 20% the wing slots open..
I read this was needed to take off in the later models of these..Too Cool!!
Never give a Hobbit a Bf 110 or a Fw 190 and tell hime to go Hunting..Oh yea!

Nice B-17, where would one find that particular texture? I've checked all the the files I have, and I have missed this one along the way.

I was strafing a tanker that was entering Valletta Harbor and managed to get tangled up in his mast. I was killed and crashed in the drink next to him as he was going down. For some reason the scenario continued to play out so I had a ring side seat and managed to snap a picture of him sinking through the wreckage of my cockpit.

Had to step back from working on things and enjoy Ankor's beautiful shaders. All dusk shots as the effects are particularly nice at that time of day.

Nigel, during a bit of a lull on the shaders front I took some time to look into the French Hawk 75s. I saw reference that the first 100 delivered lacked the two guns in the nose, though I haven't seen any photos of one like this. Do you know if this version was used or perhaps they had their nose guns added later before becoming operational? Just in case, I figured out how to get rid of all trace of the nose guns on this model. Let me know if you're interested and I'll send you the files.

I can remove the cowl guns from my model if anyone wants.
that way we can have early and later versions of the plane.

Yes, many models use the maximum value of FFFFFF, and for Win 7 I have to routinely hex edit these in the m3d file down to 303030. (255, 255, 255 versus 48, 48, 48)

great to see Ankors reflective seas getting a look in What a difference he's made.

Here's my effort, Avro Anson on patrol over Dover. The skins a bit rough and ready which is why it's not a close up!

Daniel, that's news to me about the missing nose guns, and none of my sources say anything like it. However, the first batch of 100 to arrive were the A-1 type with cowl guns but only one gun in each wing, as were a further 41 (?), so maybe that's where the idea came from. They were delivered unarmed in any case, although they were fitted with the appropriate brackets, cables, etc. The French fitted 7.5mm FN Brownings in the bays, so largely similar to everydody else's rifle-calibre machine-guns.

The only other thing I can think of is that he's also got the A-4 type muddled in - the A-4, A-6 and others had a Cyclone R-1820-G205A instead of the Twin Wasp of the A-1/2/3 types. It had a different design of cowl, and the guns were no longer in twin fairings above the cowl, but hidden by the cowl, as in the Buffalo.

Jon, if you felt like doing an A-4 version, I can think of a number of uses for it...

I did a bit more research and found that the early models (A-1) had the nose guns but only one in each wing. As best as I can tell, removing the outboard gun in each wing would be correct for an early model Hawk 75.

That's right - we do need one for the early French models. So far, I've managed to get round the problem by doing only later batch or upgraded aircraft. Then in order to get a correct RAF/SAAF MkIV, we need the Cyclone-engined version. The Finns also used that one (A-6 mainly) but because of the cooling problems, they converted them back to the earlier standard with Twin Wasp engines.

I don't have the ability to get rid of only one wing gun on each wing, but it sounds like Jon may be interested in doing the early model. In any case Nigel I'm really looking forward to your new skins, early model or no.

Clive, that's an awesome Dover! Looks like you nailed the water color for that area too.
