    Fiat G55 six years later.

Six years ago I made my first repaint. I was so frustrated about the poor ANR textures which came with Ignacio Alfredo Mendives beautiful Fiat G55 that I decided to try to produce something better. Although the only program I had was Microsoft's default paint I succeeded to create something which was the start of a long addiction.

In all those years Ignacio's Fiat is still the only G.55 available for FS9. As I think I have learned some tricks over the years I decided to redo the textures I did six years ago and started a brand new paintkit for this ancient, but still very nice model. The image below shows the difference in detail. Left the current "layered"version, on the right wing the "flat" version of six years ago.

Still a very long way to go, but I love repainting as it is very relaxing and it definitely clears you mind.

    Cheers,
    Huub

Excellent news, certainly great skins to come... The real Centauro was an amazing beauty... and this 3D model is old, but not bad at all... Beautiful proportions...

I have a long list of repaints which I like to do, which includes the Egyptian scheme. With some help from my friend SOLOBO I have adjusted "gloss" and "reflection" on the model. As Ignacio already gave me permission to upload the model years ago, I think I will make a complete package with everything included.

    Cheers,
    Huub

Below the latest progress, with the adjusted model. When you look at the beautiful lines of the G.55 you wonder why nobody has ever done one for FS9 or FSX.

And already working on the next one....

The Fiat G.55 flown by the Italian ace Capitano Ugo Drago in the experimental splinter scheme as used by during the spring of 1944 by the 1a Squadiglia II Gruppo Caccia from the ANR.

The tricolor scheme is very striking Huub. The G.55 has a whole new look with your detailing and repaints. Thanks for the hard work you put into this.

Just amazing especially the tricolor. Could you tell us when it will be ready for release?

    Waiting anxiously.

I love seeing something new come together. It looks real nice, Huub. Especially the latest scheme.

A few years ago, you put together a repaint of this lovely bird for me in RA markings for CFS2. I still fly that bird a lot.

    Again I say think you............

SgtT it is more or less finished, but I still want to do some general weathering. I like to make repaints, but I hate to write read-mes and the upload process

Cowboy, I will redo that one as well. But first I did this one.....

    Cheers,
    Huub

Yessirree!!! Those are definately very nice. This plane would sit very comfortably next to Manuele's MC.202 in my hangars. Brillant work Huub!
