Unfortunately, it's not just "science" anymore and it looks like we're going to see another case of science and technology being rushed to market before anyone works through the consequences and establishes some order.

So the potential exists for every wannabe UAV pilot to grab his VISA and fly around the neighbourhood ("it's OK - I won't get caught...") taking pictures or losing control and dropping through the windshield of a passing car. Certainly there are responsible people and intelligent applications and even maybe social benefits, but unrestrained access to technology without social awareness has serious risks - or we wouldn't be seeing drivers texting at 50 mph.
