Re-Building the FSX cfg

I can not remember where I saw it but at one time I saw something that after installing new hardware that you should back up the old fsx cfg(in case anything goes wrong) and then delete it and let fsx build a new one. I just installed a new video card (nvidia GTS 450) and sound card and these solved a lot of problems I was having (stutters and staticy sound) and was wondering if I should do this. Thanks for any advice.

Probably a good idea but I wonder if just deleting the video card detail from the FsX.cfg would result in the new card's details being entered?

Thanks Roger. Another question I have now is for upgrading to Windows 7. I have 2 hard drives c used to have fsx on it but i moved it to the 2nd drive I put in because I thought the c drive was failing. The folder with fsx cfg is on c drive and that is the drive I am thinking of putting 7 on. Can I just move that folder to the second drive and be fine or am I going to have to do fsx re-install? Do not want to re-install fsx if I have to, as it would be a total pain in the a@# with all the payware installed
