    Now that a paintkit is available, I hope someone is interested in doing this one..:

    Intel i9-13900 Raptor Lake , Be Quiet! Dark rock slim cooler, 32 Gb Corsair DDR5 RAM, MSI Z790 Tomahawk motherboard, Asus RTX 4060Ti 16Gb, Thermaltake 1050 Watt PSU, Windows 11 64-bit 1 m2, 4 SSD, 2 HDD.

    I hope so too. I'm having a go at this livery, but I can't find a photo of the underside markings. These yellow banded Fireflies were target tow planes. Does anyone know of a shot?

    Why is everyone quoting the post? It appears to be a bug in the forum!! I did not "quote" it and it still appears.

    No idea if this picture helps with your particular goal, but here it is. http://scifiblog.net/wp-content/uplo...6260428830.jpg

    hmmm. That is odd. Can't look at too many Fireflies though!

    Here is a couple of screenshots. I worked on this one yesterday most of the day, still, the stripes need work. I'm happy with the results so far. Since there are maybe 3 pictures of Fireflies with this paint scheme online, and 1 illustration, some of this is guess work. So it's fictional based on reality...or something similar like that.

    EXCELLENT!!! You are comming along nicely with that one, Doug

    New 'n Shiny

    Well OK there's a bit of exhaust stain ... but a lot prettier than that sad old thing in your photo above!

    most target tugs wore that scheme to aid in identification so you didn't shoot the tug and not the target

    Mossie Target Tug;

    Tempest Target Tug;

    i think it's safe to say the scheme would have been put onto the Firefly

    I'm currently a bit too busy with other projects, but I had already planned to do at least one Dutch Firefly.

    Cheers,
    Huub

    thats brilliant, closest has a beard, middle one looks like a kid after raiding the chocolate gateaux and the furthest just looks mean!

    Quite Impressive. Doug's Firefly has remained in the sticky category this long. Like I always say... the proof is in the final product, and the Firefly has evolved into a definate keeper. If you don't have this one, go get it.

    How would I determine 72 inches on a 1024 x 1024 sheet?

  21. #146
    mathematically, I can't tell you the equations. But, you can take a photo of a ruler and shrink/enlarge it to 1024 x 1024 and then start scaling it down. It won't be exact, but it should get in the ballpark.

    Or maybe this will help. http://www.photoshop-tutorials-plus.com/pixels.html

    Seven years ago…

    IIRC It was a photo of a drawing I took in the old MLM, I think it was something like this:

    Most likely the one at the bottom:
