Looking great! Is that bare metal version going to be available?

That's not a finished bare metal one... it was a stage in the texture development... but yes, there should be a bare metal base when I'm done... I develop all my textures from metal to get the tone for other colors... so yes
Airplanes need wings... next, they need engines... two sets!
Looks great Firekitten. Thanks for doing the paintkit.

Ok, as it looks like we've got a bit of "show & tell" going on, here's what I've been slinging paint at lately. Right now, it's a very, very rough work in progress, but it's going to eventually be a "generic" D model Harpoon in Navy tri color camo. Right now, it's in the "let's figure out where all the lines should go" stage. Once that's done, I'll go back and start cleaning it up.

That's a fantastic job you're doing, Rachael! Thank you so much!

KLM West Indies Division, based at Willemstad-Hato, Curaçao (north of Venezuela), operated Lockheed 14 Super Electras from 16 May 1938 on to Colombia (Barranquilla). Services followed to Port of Spain, Trinidad, Barbados, Surinam (Paramaribo), Venezuela (Ciudad Bolivar), Jamaica (Kingston) and, on contract work, to the USA (Miami).
Throughout World War Two KLM operated in the Caribbean and South America, with two brand new Lockheed C-60A Lodestars added to its fleet when scheduled services to Miami began on 17 August 1943.
On 30 July 1945 Douglas C-53's followed by C-47's began to replace the Lockheed Super Electras and Lodestars. On 1 August 1948 the Lodestars PJ-AKA and PJ-AKB were written from use at Willemstad-Hato. Exactly one year later they were disposed off into the Caribbean Sea. In those days "pollution" and "environmental protection" were almost certainly non-existant expressions.
The repaints have been made for the FS2004 Lockheed L-18 Lodestar by Milton Shupe & Team, available at Sim-Outhouse.com (see http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforum...er-quot/page70 ). They feature both KLM Lodestars PJ-AKA and PJ-AKB and should be considered a work in progress.
Original bare metal textures by Andre Reimers. KLM repaints by Maarten Brouwer.

Things are looking great folks :-)
FYI, I will be offline for a few more days. My cable modem got toasted in an electrical storm along with my water heater and FS yoke. :-/
Hopefully I can get the cable model replaced Monday.
Please carry on in my absence. :-)
Just a quick question in Milton's absence to anyone who might know the answer. On the PV-2D Harpoon, the engine magnetos appear to be modeled in but without textures. Any idea where in the bitmaps, they are supposed to be? Also the ADF football?
Thanks in advance,
W

Willy, eculeverhsg for the magneto cover, and miscparts for the antenna.
FYI, I finally got a wireless connection setup thru my neighbor's Guest connection with permission of course. :-)
EDIT: What is the date on your model file? Your version may be dated prior to the changes.
I've got 2 different models for the D. But the one I'm using is the one with the external tanks model.tgh and it's showing a 6-5-2015 date.
The no tanks has two dates in 9-2012.

Attached are the latest Harpoon D models. There is no longer a tgh model so change the cfg to point to one of these three.
There may be other changes to interior mapping that you will need so we will have to work through that or wait until I can release the Harpoons, which may be soon.
Model names legend: Tanks, Guns (includes turret), Hardpoints/Rockets/Torpedos For example: model.tgh
Thanks Milton!
It's no big deal on the mag covers. I just use a different engine bitmap that has silver mag covers. (I've been known to polish 'em up)
The "generic" Harpoon that I'm doing at the moment is based on the ones that flew out of the Aleutians during WWII. Those had guns & tanks. Navy land based patrol bombers kept the tri-color camo right up to the end of the war.
(I wasn't that enthused with the "Attu Warrior" paint and figured I'd try my hand at one)

Just a few representative shots ...
... and a few more.
and last ....
Wow, I like them all! Although, the fire bomber and the natural metal versions stand out for me. Great work as usual.
You've created a masterpiece, Milton, Nigel, and the rest. I can't wait to see and experience the rest!
