Burn out is quite common in this hobby.
My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.

Thanks for your patience everyone. I think we all needed a break and a nice diversion. I hope to be easing back into things during April. Depending on how things progress, I may do a pre-release version for you and from that, maybe you could share some useful feedback.

I was wondering about the status of the 2D panel for this plane. I downloaded the previous WIP, but it appears that the panel was not finalized.

  8. #1183
The WIP release was for repainters. Everything is still a WIP.

BTW, what do you think the 2D panel needs? Just curious :-)

-Stuff like switches for the electrical system, engine controls, fuelcontrols, lights.
-Vintage radios and othe navigation equipment.
    -Maybe a specialized flightengineer's and navigator's station?

Hello Milton, and thanks for the response. Perhaps I don't have the latest WIP, as it has a very low resolution BMP and many of the gauges don't load (in FSX).
    This is what I see.

Cool! LOL That's not the 2D panel I released. Attached is a screenshot of the that one, and the VC both in FSX here. No gauge issues. Not sure where you got that. :-)

My 2D panel is simply temporary and will be completely replaced. The VC is a WIP still.

I do not have a panel/gauge programmer so I am doing the best I can myself. The end result will be usable but certainly not ideal.

Ooops! How embarrassing! I apparently loaded the wrong plane when I did the screen cap! My apologies! I did notice on yours that the 2D panel bmp is rather low resolution (1024 x 768)...do you by any chance have any higher resolution images of the panel?

  14. #1189
No problem. The 2D panel bmp will be based on the completed VC panel. I do not have a higher res picture to do a photoreal 2D panel bmp.

Here's the 2d that I've been using with the WIP release. The bitmap is the one that AlphaSim released as freeware in with all the other old 2d panel bitmaps of theirs. It's a bit simpler, but I kind of like simple.

    Hello Willy:

Do you know if that alpha sim panel is still available somewhere?

  17. #1192
That AlphaSim panel bitmap is part of a collection of 160 bitmaps released as freeware.

From the readme: "FREEWARE ALPHASIM PANELS By Phil Perrott of AlphaSim. Here are 160 panel bitmaps I have created between 1999 and 2005, please use them any way you like - but please don't try to sell them!"

Found it at FlightSim.com, filename: alphapan.zip

My sincerest apologies go to Milton for holding up the show.

RW issues have kept me from fs - hopefully not for much longer.
