Well, that's most kind of you Willy, but it really depends on what ones requirements are. We are all different and expect different things for out hobby pleasures. :-)

Fortunately, there are some who can enjoy our level of quality and detail and a reasonably good flight model (if I do it), otherwise Tom's is payware quality.

I am fortunate to have great team help that raises the quality level beyond my abilities.

Hardly payware quality. But I enjoy your planes because I can load them up and fly, without having to worry about this and that - if I don't want to. I also try for that, but occasionally that doesn't quite work out.

I like the heck out of both Milton's and the California Classics. The C-46 from Cal Classic is a long time favorite. Reminds me, I've got Western, Santa Fe & Mohawk Gas Light paints for it that I need to upload sometime.

And Tom, I cleaned out the "shop" and did a massive upload to FlightSim this morning. All of the Lodestars I've done so far and the F/P-80 Shooting Stars that are my own work and not converted from CFS 2. Got some more P-80s to upload, but they were in progress (almost finished) when I decided to redo the master templates, so I'll be giving them a rework to the new standards. And four or five more Lodestars that I just started.

Ok, quick question. For the FS9 guys.... Is 888 32 bit or DXT3 prefered? I prefered DXT 3 for years in FS9 to save frame rates. But that was on older comps.

I've got 'em all back as working bitmaps and resized to 1024 or smaller. Saved the alpha layers too, but will tone down the shine a notch for FS9.

    Oh bless you Willy

That's going to save a lot of grief for us ( me ).

I'm happy with either 32 bit or DXT3.

But if there's a lot of new textures coming for these beasties, then DXT3 is better though.

    Thank you again

    Pete.

Looks like the most of the textures in the stock install are 32 bit 888. I'll probably go with that and see how it works out.

Thank you Willy. So glad you didn't upload these sooner or I wouldn't have bothered learning how to convert. I now have the shine as well which I have yet to master in the conversion process.
Great to have a good selection of civilian liveries which I do prefer to military.
    Thanks again

Thanks Willy! I really appreciate the effort!

I thought I was going to have to train myself in how to convert FSX textures for FS9. And those skins would have been worth the trouble!

That's looking great! I had United in the back of my mind, but all those curved lines running over the top and bottom of the fuselage were looking somewhat troublesome here (I have a difficult time getting those to line up properly). I'm glad to see someone doing it justice!

Off to work on some new masters with de-icer boots.

Glad to be of some help and I've decided that it would just be easier for me to the FS9 versions when I do the FSX ones. If the files weren't so darn big even when zipped, I'd just package 'em both together.

One thing I've learned in this process this time around is that when I export the alpha layers back out of the dds files to 24 bit bitmaps, is that some will add various shades of colors besides grey. And greyscaling them back again loses some of the detail in the alpha layers. But I also found out that it really didn't make that much difference in how it looks in the sim when imported back in to the image and saved as 32 bit 888 textures. The alpha layers are more about shine than detail.

One thing I like about this painting thing is that I'm always learning something new.

Rachel, love the name on the Coastal Command Ventura. Very fitting! I'm hoping that paint makes it into the release.

Those are looking great Rachael. Nice work marrying up that sold nose ... the alpha channel work threw me a curve; did not expect that on a base. LOL

I tried a new alpha technique... trying to get some 'pop' in fs9 without bumps, I think it worked.

Thank God - the UAL paint scheme!

    Hi Ferondoe,

Thank you very much for doing the UAL scheme. It is my favorite, so I am delighted.

I'm looking forward to your release,

    Bill

Looks great Willy, thanks. I always use 32 bit textures on flyable aircraft - there's only one in the air, after all.

    Looking great Rachael!

Thanks Willy and Ferondoe for all your repaints, they all look great!

Question; was there a paintkit for the Harpoon?
