    KCFS Republic Seabee update thread.

Instead of constantly making new threads for every update, all my updates will now be in THIS thread.

Im mostly over my illness (thanks everyone for wishing me well) and im back into full production on the Seabee! The interior texture work is going great, but not quite ready to show that off. I think maybe in a few days, we will see lots of interior shots. Im still waiting on reference photo's from an owner with the original avionics gauge cluster to finish the front panel.

Also, Bernt Stolle started work on the FM to make this thing fly like the dump truck the pilots describe! He just got the recent model and he is very impressed with it so far.

Chuck is also working programming things like gauges, doors, and even adjustable seats! One nice feature about the Seabee is the seats can be folded down to make a bed for when your "roughing it". Some pilots even install the yoke upside down to give there legs extra clearance when sleeping! Even the removable right hand yoke and colum will be there, incase you want to leave out the front door like James Bond

Overall, im really happy with how this aircraft is turning out, and its easly the best looking FSX aircraft I have EVER done. It really pushes the visual limits of FSX without killing FPS!!!

Just 1 screenshot for tonight, but it should wet your appetite till I can get the cockpit presentable this week. Enjoy!

Also, be sure to check this thread often for more updates if your interested in the Seabee! I will try to keep this thread the hub of activity for the Seabee. Feel free to post any comments or feedback!

Not looking forward to modeling a pilot. My strong points are in the aircraft, not the meat flying it

I've got your P38 (I love the modern white cockpit version) and I am very much looking forward to this one.

    You are very talented.

Tons of info on the net about this lovely plane which i never knew existed.

I already have a repaint I would like.

cute livery! You will need to wait a little since that aircraft has the lycoming 295hp engine and down bent wing tips. I call that the modern seabee and will make a free add-on like the modern p38 you like so much! It will come out sometime after the "classic" seabee is released.

I hope everyone didnt fill up on left over turkey just yet, because I got a LOT of eye candy to feed everyone!!!

Im mostly recovered from my illness (something is still lingering) but I still worked hard. I just cant sit in bed all day long!!! Over this holiday week, I was able to do the final texture renders for the cockpit, taking up more then 36 hours on a 6 core CPU with 8gb of RAM!!! This is the longest any texture baking process has ever taken me, but I think the results say it was worth every minute of it!!

Currently Bernt Stolle is still hard at work on the FM and I still have a lot of final touches to put on and a few livery's to paint, so dont expect this thing out in Nov. We are hoping for a December launch, but it all depends on a lot of factors, so dont hold me to that date!

Here are a few screenshots to wet your appitite till then! These are all taken from FSX using DX10 and no other enhancements other then OrbX PNW.

You can view the rest of the high resolution screenshots at http://www.kcflightshop.com/

Please come back here to post your thoughts!

Maybe because on the website it says that the Seabee takes to the "virual" FSX skies? Virual sounds a lot like virus! Stunning work on the Seabee! She looks real.

    That is looking very nice!

I hope there's a good flight model and soundset to go along with the visuals.

    That looks terrific!

I'll definately want one when it's ready.

This little beauty will be great to fly around in Alaska and the PNW.

The flight model is getting done by Bernt Stolle, so you know it will be good. The sounds are a bit up in the air. I cant afford a recording session on the Seabee right now. If the Seabee sells well, I will use that money to pay for some time in a Fraklin powered Seabee and get good sound recordings. Its going to cost hundreds of $$ to get a good sound recording, and im scraping the bottom of the bucket as it is.

    Hi Kevin,

Will you be using 3-d gauges for this model?

    Cheers,
    Craig :-)

Looks awesome! Can't wait to buy it!

Just a quick update. Textures are done and I sent the layered paint kit off to be "tested". The FM and programming are still in progress and will take time. In that time I need to make some livery's.

We hope for a December release.

Also, we will need good testers soon. If your interested in beta testing the Seabee, please list your qualifications here. Prior experience a plus, and real flight experience is a BIG plus. Those activly involved in beta testing will get credits in the manual and a free copy. :salute:

I'd love to help. Although I don't likely have the knowledge you require. I can say I've been beta tester several times. And I do pretty well testing paint templates. LOL!
