Looking for a movie title

Hi there.
Apart from being a sim-flyer I am also likes movies alot.
Now i am looking for a movie a saw when i was around 11 or so. I think it is a older movie, maybe from the late 70 or early 80? And i only remember vague parts of the plot.

This is what i remember: A man gets resurrected as a dog after being murdered, he then tries to prevent the murder of a woman when he is in the body of the dog. It is a humerous movie and i cannot remeber any of the names of the actors in the movie.

Sorry for the vague description but maybe I am lucky.
