    Textures Revamped....

...with photorealistic bits here and there.
not to everybodys taste, I know, but I started with Fs in the 90s,
and believe me, compared to those days standards, this is Gold 🤗

I've not had FSX installed since my Vista machine back in 2008, but decided to take a look at it again on my current rig this weekend. Not too bad for a start.

I suppose I'll spend the next several weeks tuning, and improving everything from soup to nuts to bring it up to current FSX standards of performance.

It looks like Bergen airfield in the back (not the one on Norway).

    Cheers,

It is, with an adapted D.16: different landing gear, different wing setup and different nose (no Townend ring).

    Love discovering "overlooked" freeware

Striker, listen, and you listen close: flying a plane is no different than riding a bicycle, just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes.

Finally I found some time to write a simple readme and upload this repaint (sorry for the delay). Its available in the library, get it while it is hot.

Thank you! Re-did the wheels, Reworked the fuselage struts, reworked the tailskid, made the townend ring and the exhaust optional with a switch and animated the landing gear. This baby is almost ready to leave the nest! One final thing: she will only start with Control+E, wich I don't like but don't know how to solve.

What happens when you try to manual start? Is it like a sluggish cranking action and then no start? I have found

that if the engine is not starting under manual, I would usually ajdust these 2 parameters in the aircraft.cfg.

    [piston engine]

    normalized_starter_torque......make it a little more
    idle_friction_scaler......make it a little less
Charlie Awaiting the new Microsoft Flight Sim and will eventually buy a new computer. Running a Chromebook for now!

The light struts look nice on the model, but I must confess I love the later version with Townend ring and the long exhausts...

White 9 "Seemann" from 7./JG53, for the Flight Replicas Bf109 G6 is available in the library. Get it while it is still hot.

The screenshots are all work in progress, so the final repaint is different in some details.

    Cheers,
    Huub
