Progress............ (Huub is short for Hubert)

2005 : The FS2004 Alphasim P51 Mustang with a repaint, made on my request by Bob Reiter aka Greenhouse357

2007 : The FS2004 version from the A2A/Shockwave P51 Mustang done on my request by Jan-Kees Blom, aka jankees. Based on an excellent paintkit by John "Bomber_12th" Terrell. (There is a more detailed 2008 version for FSX).

2011 : The Warbirdsim P51 as included in the little Friends package. Model and paintwork (as a gift to me) by John Terrell, aka Bomber_12th.

And I have them all still installed!

What will FS2020 bring?

Hi Bob, Good to see you are also still around

To explain the difference in appearance: You had to put all details of the external model in one single 1024x1024 texture with one alpha layer. Jan Kees already had five 1024x1024 textures with alpha layer to put all details in (for the FSX version even five times 2048x2048). John had two 2048x2028 to put the textures is but also 2 bump maps and 2 spec maps. And all with their own alpha layer.

What struck me was that the model became less polished with every new version

Greetings.
I have just landed at your fine air port and am heading to the cafeteria for a coffee and some apple pie, might 1^st get some pork rind, of the fried variety, and a egg or two with toast…or just get the coffee.

I have heard about your fine air field and community that surrounds the airstrip. So I thought I would pop in and see if I might stay a spell.

You will find me reasonable commutable, although I do have spats of assaholicupyerarse syndrom from time to time. Just brush that off as a bad day for a 76 year old Retired Air force pilot and career officer with no one arse to put a boots toe into any more but my wife of 50 years. I hold my assaholicupyerarse off when it comes to her as she is such a pretty little thing and I kinda like her.

I have a strange affiliation with video games, especially the horror variety, the macob, weird and strangely unrealistic. I have a poster of Jason(Friday the 13^{th horror movie )} But it is balance out by my regular flying ( in real life) and in the simulators that clutter my hard drive.
I do a little beta testing for two big gaming companies thanks to one of your community members getting me in the door, yes I know stuff about “Doom” that none of your will for a year.
I fly Fsx and 3DPV4.4, the latter thanks to that same member of your yet to be seen as fine community. I also beta test for that same weirdo and have a new You tube channel that I occasionally put up beta footage and just flying of pay ware and free ware and of course other video games I play and tolerate.

The reason for this pre-amble if you havn’t already figured it out is to say “Hello” I’m “New” here and will be hanging around just being a general pain in the rear hairy parts of ya’all.

My Neighbor is a fella called Ted Nugent, not a bad kid, but his g-dam dag just took a squat and deposit on my front lawn…so I will go for now but I will return later on after I talk to the young fella about the art of being a good neighbor…besides his wife is such a pretty little thing and make good apple pie.

I will return, so be ready with coffee, your report, and my hanger cleaned and swept!
