Nice repaint....just wondering what crest it is on the nose? It has a Queens crown above it, if the paint represents WW2...should it not be Kings crown?

I'm sure you have researched it so I'm not doubting your accuracy.

I know Montgomery had an ego on the same level as Patton, but why would he fly around in a bird that has his flag rank and insignia on it? That would seem to be a H U G E target. Seems like flying in a normal AC would be better operational security.

RAF Museum gave me some data and pics on Monty's C-47. Note I haven't added the roundels on the wings just yet since it's a test model.

Also some pic from British Pathe.

From the British Pathe pictures...it is actually a Kings crown on the crest (which is correct for the period as the queen's coronation wasn't until 1953)

    Like this.....

Note that it is more 'rounded' than Queens....

Not trying to put you down or say that it's a bad repaint or anything, just trying to help

Thanks I'll make the change. Also looks lighter in color than the one I used so it looks correct like the image

Surprise the RAF Musuem didn't make note of that. They sent me an article from a magazine showing the interior of this aircraft.
