    Czech beauty: Zlin 526 Trener Master!

    Hi, guys!

    As a member of the virtual German Airforce (http://vgaf.net), I've missed their annual meeting due to r/l occupations. Those members being able to join the party really had a ball with this cute Zlin 526 Trener Master:

    Now it was my turn to re-enact this event.
    There's a nice Zlin 526F done by Tibór Kokai, available at AVSIM:
    http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=45751

    And here comes the adequate livery:

    This particular aircraft (built in 1968, c/n 1048) has joined the 1968 World Aerobatics Championships at Magdeburg/GDR as part of the West-German team.
    It is powered by a 160 HP Walter Minor 6-III.

    Uploads to SOH, AVSIM and Flightsim.com done.

    Although this is an upgraded FS2002 model, I've managed to use 1024x1024 textures by creating a complete new exterior textures set with smooth panel lines.

    Look what this aircraft is capable of:

    Enjoy!
    Cheers,
    Markus.

    This looks great Markus, both real and simulated ... I was lucky enough to log 5 hours in a real Zlin 526F on a ferry flight about 10 years ago, what a blast to fly ! Thanks very much for this German livery ... Mike

    And here's the R/W aircraft ... http://www.airliners.net/photo/Zlin-...ner/1292663/L/ ... It has changed owners and been highly modified since we flew it ... looks expensive ! Mike :salute:

    Again Markus, appreciate the repaint and also for bringing this aircraft to my attention again, I am working on a better prop blur and hoping for a contact point fix for the tailwheel ...

    Having some fun at EDTQ Pattonville ...

    One of my favourite sites Pete, there are some real gems to be found on there with a little digging. The scenery coverage is excellent, I've got myself a very nice looking Czech Republic (and a very nice looking Czech girlfriend, but that is another story ).

    Nice littel bird. It seems the daggone tailwheel is alive Everytime I think I have it positioned, it moves around. Anyway here are my current settings. I also adjusted the air pressure on the main gear a tad.

    [contact_points]

    static_cg_height = 4.1

    0.477, 5.200, 5.200, 3.000, 0.000, 0.000

    And of course, the obligatory Shockwave mods. BTW, does this baby have either landing or taxi lights?

    Aircraft.cfg Entries

    [lights]
    //Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing
    light.0 = 4, -2.80, 0.00, 2.09, fx_vclight

    light.5 = 2, -2.29, 17.17, -0.19, fx_shockwave_strobe_2

    I also added some effects.

    [effects]
    wake = fx_wake
    water = fx_spray
    dirt = fx_tchdrt

    That's a-a-aall folks. F1 qualiyfing is about to start from Valencia and that trums all.

    Thanks a lot, guys! :salute:

    Mike, I'm glad to help you bringing back those precious memories...
    Racartron, your tweaks are very much appreciated!
    I'm not quite sure if the Zlin actually was fitted with strobes and I haven't seen anything like a landing light on pics yet.

    Cheers,
    Markus.

    No evidence of strobes on any pics -- I just like 'em What makes them acceptable -- historically -- is I can either turn 'em with the "O" key or comment them out if forced too when faced with an accuracy guru. And as soon as they leave, I'm back in business.

    It's the same issue I have with flat paints. Even though when younger I was a master of airbrushing perfect flat camo schemes on 1:48 scaled models, I can't stand them in FS. So I have to tweak them just a bit with MDLMAT -- then I can happily fly them.

    Maybe it's yet one more thing brought about by getting older

    Appears to be a gauge loading issue.

    Extract the Gauge/cab file and the error is history.
    And extract the Folder in the gauges or panel folder.
