Completed:
Leg 8 AYGR to AYGN
Flight Time: 00:55:03
Total Time: 06:10:35
Aha... so good bet then I'll be forgiven Seems since my first RTRW I managed to mis-post here or there. Paul seems pretty laid back about it.
I was too last night Charles after that third flight... like a zombie. Was why I did not attempt Cape Gloucester. Too scared I'd get there and have that same glazed eyes "yes I'm a deer caught in jacklights" look.

Turbo waste-gate failure on No.4 so I decided shutting it down was better than letting it run overboosted.
Planned to intercept the 90° Mag. Bearing (not radial) to Rwy 09 at Gurney but missed the turn horsing around w/ No. 4 while trying to avoid premature contact with the ground. So I circled on around to the south for a landing on 27.
Was relieved to get on the ground and even more relieved to miss the oddly placed fuel pump.
Great kodaks, G.O.! I especially like how number 4 is feathered. Good to have four engines! I had to feather number 1 last night. Unfortunately I was in a TBF Avenger... As for filing the wrong "paperwork", heck, everyone's done that. No worries there.

(btw last completed AYGN to AYPY was Leg 9, not "8"... have learnt my abc's, working on my 123's)

Beach landing and a Green Duenna! Nicely Done! & :salute:
Yes I thought one engine feathered "looked cool" and the terrain provided a nice "backdrop" hence the multiple pics.
But I haven't figured out why the failure except being accusim. I think I am staying within limits...
Charles
That was a lot of flying in a short period of time! Nice work!
Fifteen and a half hours???? I was running "8" on the MP Dial, 42" (sometimes 43") Manifold Pressure with an Indicated Air Speed of over 200Kts, easy, and it took me twenty+ hours..
You did some Serious B-17 Driving.. Way To Go!!! (even tho you bumped me to "second place" in the B-17 "class" )
Charles
One great effort, Rob. Impressive to manage the beautiful A2A bird all the way so quickly.
And great stories and screenshots to boot.

Congrats Rob. Hey I spelled it right this time. Impressive flight.
Well done, Rob! :salute:
