    C-46 Commando?

I heard there was a FSX native freeware model of the C-46, is this true?

If there is, tell me about it.

The Cal Classics one ports over quite well, so I am told, but I've never tried it. It was gorgeous in FS9 as you can see below. I wonder why, with yet another DC3/C-47 on the horizon, so many more interesting aircraft from that era are neglected in FSX.

I did try the CalClassics Commando as a port over and was frankly dissapointed with the results.

I want to point out that is not meant to disparage the effort, and I did enjoy this aircraft in FS9, but.......

It would be nice to have a good treatment of this historical aircraft.
Basic Flying Rules: "Try to stay in the middle of the air. Do not go near the edges of it. The edges of the air can be recognized by the appearance of ground, buildings, sea, trees and interstellar space. It is much more difficult to fly there."

I have not heard about an FSX "native" C-46. I do have Tom Gibson's update of Libardo's Commando in both FS9 and FSX and I am very pleased with the results. The aircraft's appearance and sounds are magnificent; and it flys like a big heavy prop job. My thanks to both of these men and their support crews for a great FS airplane.

    .
Nip over to the Cal Classic site http://www.calclassic.com/ and look down the list of aircraft for yon Curtiss Commando. You'll see that it's V2, updated in April 2011.

    Veddy noice indeed!
