    The Forgotten Theater - CBI

Has there ever been a discussion about making another expansion - particularly for the CBI Theater? Or would that map just be way too large...?

Was watching a few documentaries on the 'Yesterday' channel over the weekend on this theatre, fascinating stuff.

Most people only remember the AVG (Flying Tigers ) but there was alot more going on. The AVG became the CATF ( China Air Task Force ) in July 1942 and operated until March 1943. Their record was almost as impressive as the AVG. They did alot of escorting B-25s on raids on Hiaphong and Hong Kong. Ground support of the Chinese troops was also a priority.

I did over 70 missions covering both in CFS2 and plan to do the same when this theater is available for PTO.

I also have plans for the PNG Scenery when it is available.- Defence of Australia,Bismarck Sea and a PNG missions set tha covers alot of the battles including Milne Bay.

You could also find happiness by reading this if you don't have it yet :

It is very insteresting to learn how the allied forces maintain
a force behind the ennemy lines.

It's pity if you can't go to the both meeting, you should go
to Le Mans one year and then choose la Ferté Alais the other
    one...?

Oh wow! I had no idea this was all going on behind my back!
Looks really great. Hope it won't be too big of a tax on some slower machines though....

As I mentioned before, there will be navigatable rivers in the AVG and Sino-Japanese theater portions of RS.

Here we have a CAF patrol on the Yantze circa 1937.

    Question

...so how hard would it be to edit the shoreline textures so our river banks no longer had a pounding surf? ...possibly a different texture with less (or no) white water?...:mixedsmi:

Impossible for the existing ocean and lake shorelines in the CFS3 theater without the original shape files used by M$. The river shorelines can be however , by editing the river .dds texture file found in the Terrains folder.

All shoreline shape files (ocean, lake, and in the case of RS navigable rivers) are created using one .dds texture file and one batch file. I am either going to not create the navigable river shorelines or attempt to run the river shorelines as a vector using a different shoreline .dds texture file. Not sure separate shorelines can be created yet, haven't got to that point yet on vector creation for sino.
