Unfortunately the weather would not co-operate for me here in Oz . Heavy clouds and misty rain. I was looking forward to giving my 650 - 1300mm zoom lens a good test.

    Cheers Pat

It's been great the past two nights and will again be so tonight. On any equinox full moon (Spring and Autumn), the moon's surface is 98 to 99% lit the night before the full moon and the night after. It happens to be more so with this moon as it is at apogee and the Spring Equinox is only 2 days away.

It was so bright and clear here last night, I couldn't help but try my hand at an HDR image, turned out pretty good, really highlights the large crater's rays and accented individual craters better.

Celestron C-8 telescope, PENTAX K-x (body only) on T-mount, manual focus from telescope, neutral density filter, ISO 400, three shots at -2 Ev, 0 Ev, and +2 Ev. Tone mapped in HDR Photo Pro and post processed in Photoshop .

Cool shots, fellas. Barely got to see it here in Stumptown through an opening in the cloud deck early in the a.m. the other day. Pretty large
orb, comparatively. Caz's telescope photo & ones like it always remind me of a practice bombing range. A violent past... & future?
