    Lightbulb Nice New Beaufort

    There's a nice new Beaufort posted at SimV this morning. It's TR's conversion of the AlphaSim FS9/FSX aircraft complete with DVC and custom weapons. Four textures: bare metal and blue, tan, gray camo. It's a very nice rendition of the Beaufighter's Homely Sister.

    Excellent, it's really a great and needed plane. Thanks to Tango for his conversion and to you for the advice!!!!

    Thumbs up No Joy

    I was unable to get this plane to show in Free Flight - It simply locks up the display, and I'm forced to cancel out of CFS2.

    Perhaps a downloaded file error - I'll try grabbing this file again later and re-trying....

    UPDATE: Just downloaded and reinstalled the entire A/C again; As of 1830 Hrs, No Joy - still locks up the Sim.

    I envy you bro, I can not download anything from Simviation, I tried 7 times to get the Canberra, are they in Britain or something?

    Hmmm...couple of little prob's with this one....2d panel uses mostly "Mosquito!***" gauges. Haven't got those, no instruments in 2d.

    Bombs will select but not drop...needs a little investigating this one, haven't got time right at the moment....to be continued.

    Update: There's a little error in the dp file as follows----
    ================
    [guns.3]
    gun.0=0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0

    [guns.4]
    gun.0=0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0

    [guns.5]
    gun.0=0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0
    ==================
    If you edit these entries to look something like this the drop weapons will work...don't forget to open those bomb bay doors first.
    [guns.3]
    gun.0=4,0,0,0,0,0,0,0

    [guns.4]
    gun.0=4,0,0,0,0,0,0,0

    [guns.5]
    gun.0=4,0,0,0,0,0,0,0
    ==================
    Now all I gotta do is find the mossie gauges.

    So - another bout of insomnia kept me going into the wee hours on this plane.

    I even d/l'd the Original Alpha FS9 file from EasyFly [http://www.easyfly.co.nz/Freeware/index.php] and converted it - the damned thing still locks up in Free Flight.

    Is Tom Sanford available for assistance ?

    The missing (non-CFS2 stock) gauges for the Beaufort and the B-57 are available at SimV this morning.

    Lightbulb Don't Understand

    - I'm flying the Beaufort right out of the download ZIP with no problems at all with the plane or weapons drop. The DP is as it came in the download. - I had no problems with the aircraft showing or loading. - I did not have the gauges until just a bit ago, when I found them in the new posts at SimV. - And, yes, TR is about the most available guy I know in CFS2. He hangs on the SimV CFS2 forum and his email is in all the ReadMe files. He actually answers his email too...as he has assisted me many times.

    I found the problem...

    It kept some FS09 instructions that cause the crash bug syndrome... I sent the fix to TR.

    Cheers

    Pepe

    After the SimV gauge update, still got a heap of missing gauges in 2D panel. I'll try one of these other uploads in this thread.

    Thanks sc. The simV gauge update just didn't work for me, but your zip in this thread did...thanks for that.

    Manifold boost gauge animation not working....stuck in 3rd gear.
