    Just found this fascinating link to Enola Gay's cockpit, at the Smithsonian. It's a virtual cockpit. The Flight Engineer's position is particluarly interesting. I wonder who did most of the work with the engines, pilot or engineer?

    I really wish the B-29 was on someone's list of 'things to do'!

    engineer by far, his sole purpose on the plane was to operate the engines .. plus he couldnt use the rudder bar above the pedals as foot rests like the pilot and copilot
    yes i know i cant spell half the time! Thank you kindly to those few who pointed that out
