Yes that model can be converted but I do not think it will work to well in cfs2 as it is a high poly model. I will build my own lowpoly single texture sheet texture model. 1. 1024 x 1024 texture sheet is better for fps than 4. 512x512.
That model has 58 textures in it only 43 are usable in cfs2. If I make the model I will have damage textures.Thanking every one for their comments.

    Hi Robert John,

I agree, eye candy is nice but not always efficient. Your models will add a lot to this area.
    Awesome work!

    RJ,

    The road will be excluded!

Also forgive my ignorance but is the model you gave me placed in the sim? I cannot see it anywhere.

    Hi Tobob
The Model is a gsl model, you have to add it with mission builder.
Just built la Lanterne,Chaine Tower,Saint-Nicolas la rochelle will be sending these soonAttachment 30745Hope the land class is compiling now.I use google earth to look at where the objects need placeing near enough.

    Thanks RJ

    Looking really good!!!

You additions to the CFS2 world are and will be very welcomed.

I´ve dl FS2004 France scenery from AVSIM but couldn´t work with it yet. Your sub pens are great, and with Penwin32 flak cannons my dreams will become true!

    Thanks again, Discus

PS: I don´t know a thing about Gmax but I know something about Autocad. Could this knowledge be of some help for you or others in any way?

Those pens look great Robert John, thank you for making them...and i am for adding as much detail eye candy or not as CFS2 can spare, most of us have newer computers now as long as the engine is not over heated.

KDriver did Frédéric Picci make all of those coastal sceneries including Mont St. Michel?

    Hi Chris,

Olivier Bochu made Mont St Michel for FS2000. Frederic Picci made the other three for FS2004. They are at FlightSim.

Here's some more progress. I'm enjoying this project and have gained a ton of respect for g2k and anyone who uses it! :salute:

Hopefully I can finish up this week and I will send the files to Robert John to test. So get your missions ready!!!

p.s. Robert John, I like the side docks and think they add a lot to the scenery! I say keep 'em!

    Hi Tobob
    Looking nice.
Does the water go right up to the edges of the docks, I say this because on the close up screnshot it seems the water needs to be wider so all pens have water to them.
I'll look into doing the entrance to the lock.
    Your screenshots looks good.

    Attachment 31217Hi Tobob.
Is the gap big enough to put the lock and subway in.
I do not know what this tunnel is called.
In the United Kingdom, a pedestrian tunnel or other underpass beneath a road is called a underpass subway. In the United States that term now means an underground rapid transit system.

    Robert John,

Yeah I'm trying to get everything to fit correctly. It's a pain!

I was going to ask you about the locks, if you send me a scale model I will move the land accordingly.

    To Tobob
I will work on this, the bad news is life got a bit busy for me so cfs2 will be a bit slower, so to build the project I will need about two weeks.
Any animations you can think of let me know.
    Looking good.

    Hey guys,

I am seriously impressed with your work. Give me the tools, and I will modify my missions to accommodate your creations. Well done!

Attachment 32135Hi Here is my La Rochelle Subpens and the sluisbunke. I a question. Do I up load the model with swing bridge closed or open or both.
I am thinking about CAT animation but have to find out more about this. I can do a long animation by tweeking the asm code so the bridge swings open one minute stays open one minute close one minute stays closed one minute. what do you thike is the best.

I think a swinging bridge would be fabulous Robert John.

By the way, what was the purpose of the subway? I notice St Nazaire has one as well.

  22. #72
Due to a difference in water level when using the lock the subs would be vulnerable to attack.
The sloping sides of the bunker give the bunker better protection from bombs.
The project is getting more interesting and If the response is here I will put more objects in ie Torpedo bunkers and with help from Tobob more landclass.

Thanks - I forgot about the huge tidal variation in that part of the world.

I have done a cat animation but looks like I will have to take the bridge away from lod_090 and below. works good for drivable boats and subs. Still experimenting with cat.

Its Working better than I thought it would. A bit slow to start looks really nice.
I might do some cat animation trains.
