    A bit Nippy Outside

OK, it's starting to get a little cold out here.
-8, with a wind chill of -27 right now.
I think we have a 'high" forecast for 4 today.
Ah, Spring is right around the corner.

Brr, -8°C and -27°C don't sound too comfortable. But +4°C? Cool; better than here! :d

Hey Tom,...the Ye' Ole Thermometer reads 5 above right now. Suppose to go up to a balmy 9 degrees by this afternoon. By game time this Sunday 20 degrees is predicted.

My car sounded like it was going to explode this morning when it was started.

I've never heard a car make those kinds of sounds ever.

Me and you both. First start of the day, sounds like one of the cylinders is flooded.

There's a reason I'm willing to live a bit more basic than I might have to if I lived somewhere else...the airport you see here is 5 minutes from the house!

9:29PM. Mansfield Lahm Regional (KMFD), which is 3 miles west of my house, is reporting current temp of 3 degree. Today's high was 15 degrees.

The dogs don't like these really cold temps. Their poor little feet start getting frozen after just a few minutes outside on the packed ice and snow. I am very careful about that when I take them out for their potty breaks.

Just woke up to -20F and frozen pipes. The water system is shared between the Landlord's trailer and ours... Pipes I could reach on our place this morning are fairly warm. Not sure where the problem lies... yet.

Frozen pipes.....most think a two or three foot are protection in the ground from frost....but as you know there,as we knew then..SIX foot was minimum... same for footings for any building!.My Well serviced two other homes..my Moms, and my Mom in law....Dreaded a water brake under ground then...need Jack Hammers....as we Know Frozen Ground is as Concrete!!....the outside well pump house? ,we did what old timers did,use cow manure around the base of the small bldg..always worked...the "STUFF" was a warm insulation....Thanx for The memory!.......ROTSARERUCK on frozen water Pipes!!
