"V" key not working to capture pictures

Searched the forums before this post to no avail...
Just had to redo the computer/upgraded to W-7 X64

    Reinstalled FSX/Acceleration(SP1&SP2 0n acc. disk)

Checked controls and button assignment and it was the "V" key
Tried a reassignment to another unused key and still does not work

I have "snapper" but I want to find out why it is not working

    Maybe a corrupt install?

    Thanks

    Rick

Check your standard.xml in the C:/users/username/appdata/roaming/Microsoft/FSX/controls folder and ensure the following entry exists. Just do a find of 'screen'.

    [Entry>
    [Key>V[/Key>
    [Down>CAPTURE_SCREENSHOT[/Down>
    [/Entry>

The left brackets are actually the less than sign.

Also ensure it exists in the standard.xml of the FSX root directory.

Do you have FSUIPC installed. If so check the setting in there and make sure it isn't set to something else.

Keep in mind that the V key saves as a huge .bmp file, not to the clipboard!

Thank you for both of your replys...

I checked the Standard file at both locations--it was fine

I did check the location where FSX places the pics-guess what they were there....

I just went from XP 3gig to W-7 8 gig-When I used to take shots in XP it would freeze for just a moment--Because it was not freezing I thought it was not working...

Next time I will check closer, but thanks again for the quick responses!!

I guess I now have a REAL computer......
