    Island, Fantasy?

    Hola Gera!

You asked "somewhere" about making an island and how you couldn't get it to work in SBuilderX. Well mi amigo, here's a sample with some real simple instructions to get you on your way!

    1. Start SBX and turn on the QMID grid to level 11. Other than traffic files, FSX works on QMID 11 boundaries.

    2. Make a small polygon within the QMID 11 lines and tag it to Exclude_All_Water_Polygons.

    3. Make a new, larger polygon that extends outside the QMID 11 boundaries. Tag it Hydro_Generic_Ocean_Perinneal.

    4. Within that water polygon draw the outline of the island you wish to create. Right-click on the island polygon and select "Select As Hole...". You will be prompted to click on the Parent polygon, as a hole is considered to be the "child" to the "parent". Click carefully on the outer boundary of the water polygon. If successful, the island area or child should turn white. If not, then the precision clicking on the parent polygon didn't work, so try again!

    5. Select the island / child polygon where all points are green. Menu choice Edit | Copy, then Edit | Paste. Click somewhere away from the child polygon to make a copy of it. Once the copy is made press Escape to stop making copies, otherwise SBX will make copies every time you click anywhere!

    6. On the copy of the island right-click and assign some type of land class. The original island is just a hole and has no FSX texture assignment. That's why we make a copy and assign a texture.

    Save, compile and enjoy!

The attached Zip file has an island made a little northwest of MPEJ in Colon, Panama. Named in honor of you! LMK if you have any questions.

There is a texture for the hole... it is the landclass texture. If the hole appears as water, it's because the landclass is set as water ( LC# 100 ). Make a small landclass BGL for the island, and the hole will show that landclass.
