Thread: something i want to say

    Whatever happened to :-
"If you cannot say something nice about something, then don't say anything at all?"
Especially over something so trivial as a birthday.

Strange I can't recall I ever married you.... This afternoon told my wife that I will be cycling in the Ardennes in Belgium on our wedding day. She said she would prey for nice weather. That's what you get when you are married as long as we are!

One lucky thing: I won't be here to congratulate you, because I understand that is a touchy subject here :d :d :d

    Cheers,

Forum contretemps such as this can well serve to demonstrate an odd foible of modern thinking that seems to have developed in recent times:

A person perceives a slight, or an outright insult, and retaliates with some questionable verbiage. He's thinking that everyone has noticed the affront, and that he's justified and bound by some strange code to "strike back".

But in fact, very few -- if any -- noticed the original comment. What they did notice was all the blather and contumely that the second party issued as a response.

So speaking for myself: in this case -- as in any others -- I had not noticed the original thread. Or if I did, I forgot about it.

But now, I couldn't help noticing that someone with a gripe had concluded it was prudent to vent here and ensure that everyone was aware of his point of view.

From my admittedly slender viewpoint, that's injudicious and inappropriate.

You are shooting at the wrong target. Put your glasses on, re-read the posts here and in the other three recently closed threads and adress the people who have been offensive and insulting.

I have to say as a very recent new member this doesn't seem like a very freindly place! I think I'll head back to the FTX forums where there is a lot less ego on display and a lot more respect shown. From all sides.

The Thread title is so self-serving, I reckon one can just continue to spout anything that comes to mind.
How about ... saying something about Internet Forums?

As I told the staff earlier, we've got people here who would try to argue with a fence post. Some have already show themselves in this thread.

And if you want to argue with staff here, this is not the place. You'd have been better off sticking with the fence post.

All we really want is for everyone to treat each other with some common decency. Is that too much to ask?

    Exclamation

    ENOUGH ALREADY!

This thread is just an extension of a birthday wish thread that went south and was closed...and this one just continued down that road and is now closed too.

And now back to our regularly scheduled flight-simming.............
