Bald can be very beautiful indeed. Natalie Portman was particularly stunning with a shaved head, as was Robin Tunney.

And as for Persis Khambatta in Star Trek : The Motion Picture? Sublime.

    No, thanks.

Bald is okay on women, but please everywhere but the head. :d

I think this woman is doing a very brave thing despite her illness.

i realize some of you may not understand, but one of the things that made up my mind to marry my wife was when she let me see her with no hair and missing one breast after her cancer surgery and chemo/radiation. i just thought that was such a show of trust in me there was no way i would ever have to worry about trusting her.
one of the most humbling experiences for me.

either that, or she realized that as ugly as i am, she had nothing to worry about by way of comparison

    Cheezyflier,

your first comment was touching, and it is a great lesson.

Particularly in contrast, the second made me laugh. In a conversation some years ago, a group of friends agreed that geeks make great spouses. Of course 4 of 6 in the conversation qualified for the title (one chemist, two engineers, one mathematician). I shared this later with psychologists (co-workers), and it turns out geeks are traditionally faithful: we really don't expect a second chance with anyone.

    Yes, I agree.
But she wasn't happy about it...

I was trying to hide the dirtyness the best I could, so that makes *you* dirty because you knew what I was saying!

My wife has had Alopecia Areata for 20 years. You'd better believe what the young lady has done takes a lot of guts; more than I'll ever have and, I'll wager, more than most folks. My wife says she wishes she had the guts the young lady has, but readily admits that she doesn't. I'm proud of both of them.:salute:
