    The Last Auster

I have not seen any previous announcements here, but over at Classic British( http://classicbritishfiles.com/ ) , They have David Molyneaux' Auster Terrier 2 now

Thank You David. This is a very nice aircraft.

Any chance a paintkit is available? I'd enjoy doing a few repaints

Thanks for the H/U! Another nice one from David and CBF.

    The Last Auster

Thanks folks - great set of screenies there - shows her off well
Worth mentioning, this is modelled on the actual aircraft as she is today and, being a Terrier 2, doesn't have a sparkling performance and is also somewhat tail-heavy. BTW - it's for FS9 so any 'funnies' seen in FSX are to be expected (especially as I don't run FSX).
Built by our Auster team - photos, information etc - Martin T6flyer, F.D.E. - Brian Horsey, and yours truly.
    Cheers

Thanks to Martin and Brian for your added efforts to make the Auster Terrier II a reality for us in the simulator. And as for your modeling for FS2004 only, I LIKE IT!! LOL, oops

What might the next project be?

What might the next project be?
Well, can't tell you too much because the plan could change but I can confidentially say that it'll begin with the letter 'A'

    I feel like a Yo-Yo..................on my way..................thanks!!

Hey Leif, I've downloaded several things from CBFS (and I thank you for that) but just to let you know, some files are having CRC extraction errors.

Just a small, but important point, CBFS at http://www.cbfsim.org/ is not CBF at http://classicbritishfiles.com/ which is where these Austers etc are stored. Two different sites with a common interest in all things classic.
Any comments regarding CBFS stuff should be posted to their forum, any regarding our CBF stuff is to be posted in the Site Support forum on our site where it'll definitely be seen and answered - we don't tend to search daily through all other sites for such queries.

I thought of that afterwards but had no way to just delete the post. Of course I could have edited it.

It was late. I was tired. You'll have to excuse that

Take note of my numbness of the brain folks!!

Sorry to dig up this old thread but....
I just went to install the Auster Terrier and my zip file is corrupted.

Does anyone know whether this aircraft is still available anywhere?

    thanks

I just might be able to help. I'll have a look in my library, give me a day or 2?
    BTW, was it the A06?

Normally David Molyneaux makes his models available via Flightsim.com as well. There are several of Dave's Austers available there, including civil models. I don't know enough about Austers to judge whether the Terrier is among them.

I just had a quick look, mainly AP09's there.
I'm sure that I have the whole lot of them.. I'll look..

Ok, I found it in my sim, now to find the zip! I'll do it a bit later.. Work calls!

I also have the ambulance, glider, T7 floats, A)P6, 9, 11, Beagle Husky, Agricola, .....
(I have 6 portable drives to go through, I'm sure that I zipped them all together..)

It is good to know we have a back-up librarian. I have burned half the internet on CDs, from which the majority is so old they simply don't work anymore

Although the Auster is a nice aircraft, from which we have some great models by Dave Molyneaux and Dave Garwood, my knowledge about Austers doesn't go much further than the fact we Dutch flew the Auster from 1944 (as part of the RAF) until 1954. But I do have some knowledge about 1/72 Airfix model I did build 50 years ago..... (I can remember I flew Dave's versions of this model).

    Cheers,
    Huub

I've been saving all my downloads since the very early days, & have stuff from sites that have long disappeared. I also have duplicates as well, as sometimes it's quicker to download something that catches my eye than to try find where & on which portable drive I've saved things to.. It's almost like finding an old friend again.

    Huub,
I wonder if Moly and DG would mind us hosting their stuff here at the SOH?

Well done Z on downloading the ac on the old CBFS site!

It's just you will get a lot of personal requests to email people files, which although it may not be a problem to you, it's a little unfair to expect it from you.

I've done the same for some 15+ years, after a few years I made up an index which saved me so much time I've continued.

Shessi, If I have what the guys (& gals, if any) are looking for, & if they have disappeared off the internet, it's a pleasure to share FS2004 stuff. It's all part of the maybe forgotten developer's legacy to pass on. The more we remember FS2004 stuff, the better & longer it lives on.

Dave Molyneaux (Molyned) is a member here, and since Classic British Files disappeared he normally uploads his files to Flightsim.com. Dave Garwood's models are available at Classic British British Flight Sim, which is still up.

You can always ask, as both are active members here, but I assume when they wanted to have their file in the library here they would have done that already in the past.

    Cheers,
    Huub

As if by magic - here I am.
I would have no objections to my Auster aircraft being hosted in the library. A good idea because I don't know where all the originals are now.
