Question new Video Card or computer

    I have a P4 2.4 Ghz, 2GB Memory and a Nvidia Ti4200 64MB

When running Aerosoft German Scenery 1-4 the textures don't load all the way I Have changed The Texture_Bandwith_multi from 40 to 100 and added TextureMaxLoad=10 it helped some

so here are my option a Geforce 7600GS 512MB, New power supply, and a new hard drive ( will this help)

or a new computer most likely a Dell Optiplex Dual core 3.0 GHZ 3 GB and a geforce 9800GTX Or since my computer is older is this the better choice?

    thanks

I'd go with the new one. You can also order Dell computers with XP still.
That's what I did. Actually, got it from their Scratch/Dent/Refurbished site. Really happy with the results.

If price is the kicker, you may want to looking into pricing out all the parts for a new puter and build it or have someone build it for you. It worked out much cheaper for me.

Your cpu bottlenecked....that old D is ready to put to pasture...I've seen Dell's and HP's at BestBuy on sale for what I thought was dirt cheap like the quad6600 is fairly cheap...your just pissing money in to old tech and like it or not you're going to have to step up soon anyway..just MPOV..

Buy then, computer parts that seem expensive now, will be a lot cheaper. And I would advise going all SATA. which will increase read and write. I have a 750gb SATAII HDD and a SATA DVD rewriter and I can burn DVD's at 20x seamless.

I built mine and I would recomend doing the same.

My computer is a P4 3 GHz from year 2005. I changed my video card to a better one two years ago. It doubled FPS in fs2004. Your system seems to be even older/less powerfull. There is no help of upgradings because there will be too much bottlenecks left anyway. So I suggest a completely new computer.
