It makes me wonder just how CFS3 can handle so much aircraft with such beauty and articulation without even flinching!

The mechanics of the sim are truly amazing! Great job on the Liberators!

A little histirical tidbit for anyone who wants to know: The RAF based a few of these bombers here in the Bahamas during the war, to fly off to European battlefields hot off the assembly lines. I believe a few are making excellent deep water reefs in Bahamian waters.

For all who might want to know.

Hi, as water reefs is not the way we prefer seing them, but very interesting note Autothrottle,
Liberators may have ghostly shapes in the middle of multi colored fishes and corals, do you have pics ?

alain, Thanks very much for the interest.

However, unfortunately there are no pictures of Liberator wrecks around the Bahamas as they were listed in the national archives as missing or lost at sea. No one really mapped out exactly where these Liberators actually went down.

Some estimates are daunting. The waters surrounding us are very deep. You would likely need a specialised submarine team to look for them. One time they found an Apollo spacecraft here that ditched sometime around the early sixties or so. At a depth of some 30,000 or so feet of water.

Here are just a few pics of what they might look like underwater. Pictures are from Liberators shot down near Italy and the Pacific Atolls.

I think I'll enjoy this libby when it comes out. It has so many historical facts tied up into it!

The photo on the left is a 17.
Not enough of the other to tell the type.

Sad to remember I looked over a B-24J once (long time ago), located at the Tulsa, Oklahoma airport. No engines on her. They were all freshly overhauled, and canned, in the nearest hangar once owned by the airlines that once owned the plane.

What was left of the fairly complete 24 was pretty well shot full of holes, since the plane was used for target practice by the local law enforcement...or at least that was what I was told by the local guard in the area. Real sad to look at.

I have the d out to several folks taking a look at her to find all the problems. Once that is done I'll work on the J.

The prodigals return?? They've probably never been away...

And I shouldn't be surprised if some of the unfinished models have passed into other hands for finishing. Quite a lot of that going on these days, just hope some hands are not overloaded!

Hey dancat. good to see you back. Do you still work on the Luftwaffe secret weapons or jets. There were pics a whle back, but I guess real life got in way. Any news on those if they would be released in near future? thx.

  20. #45
oh yeah, still tinker with the models now and again.
worked on another HO-229 all week about 2 weeks back.
still need to cut the rear gear doors and do the rudders....and wing spoilers, and ......well I guess there's a lot to do still.
this week I've been doing the vc on the Dora I started about a year ago I guess.
lately it's been hours and hours in photoshop just to go into the sim and realize that all that detail you just worked on is over looked when dog fighting....
    oh well, it's still fun!
no release date for anything yet but I could probably release a beta Dora this week if anyone wants.

    Good isn't it Scott?:mixedsmi:
Luca has done some extra work on his old models, which I'm very greatful about, still need finishing, but he's passed three of them onto me, and all I can say is they are three fantastic models, well I've only seen two first hand, but you can be sure the Ta will be top notch!

I'm still hoping Mat comes through with you know what?:d Also with Greg finishing the Me 323, it really does feel like MAW again!

I can feel some desert screenshots coming on!!

Oh yea, that special skin, you are a very patient man my friend! It will happen, one day!:d

BTW the MAW Baltimore is ready to go!
