Hope this is in the right place. I know the default FSX is float, not wheel ski, but perhaps a painter(s) would try to make the "most used" paint for a Beaver? Don't know about removing the cowl.

you would want to use the aerosoft one, for detail and well Texture Detail. As for "cowl off" the only time the cowl comes off is when it sits on the ground so if you don't mind flying around with a floating cowl beside you, then no problem. if you can find some photos of it, I found one of the tail end, but need more to make a decent representation.
