    A couple of C185F paints

    A couple of paints I've completed of the Carenado's C185F Bush X

    First 8Q-MAT from the Maldivian Air Taxi fleet configured for the Tundra, Float and Amphibian versions (Configured as a float plane in real life)

    and secondly a nice shiny polished aluminium scheme on the American register N9916 configured for Tundra and Float versions

    Both are uploaded to the OZx site if anyone is interested.

    Cheers

    Allan

    Hi DoubleCool,

    The way I have it configured is that all textures occur only in the Tundra version, so to make one of the other variants only a small amount of work is needed.

    Copy the texture.N9916 folder from the Float version into the Amphibian version (it contains only one file).

    Copy the thumbnailN9916.jpg attached in this post (last picture) and put it into the main Amphibian folder

    and finally edit the Amphibian Aircraft.cfg and add the following:

    [fltsim.xx]
    title=C185F SKYWAGON AMPHIBIAN N9916
    sim=Carenado_C185
    model=
    panel=
    sound=
    texture=N9916
    kb_checklists=C185_check
    kb_reference=C185_ref
    atc_id=PTKEG
    ui_manufacturer="Carenado"
    ui_type="C185F"
    ui_variation="AMPHIBIAN N9916"
    ui_createdby="Carenado"
    ui_typerole="Highwing single Engine Prop"
    description="The C185, also known as the Skywagon, is a six-seat, single engined, general aviation light aircraft manufactured by Cessna. atc_id_font=Verdana,-11,1,600,0
    visual_damage=0

    Could you do a really weathered and dirty version of the tunda one please, I love the look of the well worn ones!

  15. #15
    How about something like this? I whipped this up when the 185 first came out.

    Peter, looking through 729 pics on airliners.net for dirt inspiration, these aircraft are a remarkably clean bunch of aircraft. I found one Scottish example with mud thrown up under the wing from picking up skydivers in a field, but paintwise these are obviously much loved aircraft. I`ll look into some mud work on the Tundra, but this is a new area of painting for me, so I`ll see how it works out.

    I agree its rare to see really dirty weathered ones they are obviously much loved, however I do like the look of your new paints and I will be downloading them, so thanks anyway!

    Is there any chance of you trying this one?

  22. #22
    Sure, I have one other in the works almost complete, but then I can conjure this one up, it's a fairly straight forward scheme. Do you have some history with this aircraft?

    No not personally, I just find the scheme rather attractive, I always think that red painted cessna's look nice!

    Its had a small caption of history next to the photo it reads ...

    Above is Harvie Beetham's Cessna A185F ZK-NRC . c/n A185F-02860. This aircraft had served in Malasia and Singapore before coming to NZ to become ZK-TAL1 on 28-05-1979 for Taupo Air Services. It was damaged at Martins Bay, Stewart Island in march 0f 1983 and eventually cancelled in 1992. It was rebuilt incorporating parts from another C185 and a set of new wings and became ZK-NRC on 22-11-1999. It lives at Kai Tak, out the back of Dannevirke NZ.

    I found this other rather unusual one too..

    I'm afraid I can't find any history or photos or even an area of opperations for this one though!

    It's had a bit of a chequered history then, as there's a NZ accident report where it broke the left main gear and flipped on it's back in 2005.

    The yellow aircraft is owned by. Barr Air Patrol Llc, seems to be based in the Vancouver area to.

    ohh I would keen on any NZ repaint...:salute:
