    Talon in Hospital

    Just thought you should know Talon has been in the hospital since late tuesday night.Over the weekend he was overly tired and having headaches.He just rested hoping it would pass but by tuesday afternoon he had problems breathing also.We had him rushed to the hospital and he is in ICU.He is feeling better but will be in ICU for maybe another week it all depends how the medication does.

    This problem has been with him since September 2001 after he was part of the rescue team for the WTC.The last time it was this severe was August 2002 and it took him about 2 months to fully recover.This is the same thing that took my husbands life so you can see we are very concerned about.

    Sorry for the bad news.

    Hazardous chemicals and compounds from building materials that were pulverized in to the dust they inhaled. Many first repondents didn't have breathing apparatices on.

    Prayers sent from here too Hiede. Tell him we're all pullin for him. Get better or we'll all converge out there and kick his a$$ well. That should scare him enough to get well. :d

    TALON & WTC

    Heidi;
    Ensure that the doctors in Hawaii get in touch with the medical centers in NYC that are doing case analysis and assistance on the sick responders. Many of these cases are popping up now, as some medical experts years ago predicted. I have many friends who have also become sick from that assignment. If I find out the names of any researchers I will post here. In the meantime, wish Talon Godspeed, a fast and good recovery and thank him for working there at the "hell hole".

    Hiede;
    Here is some quick information that I readily had;
    http://www.health.state.ny.us/enviro...ealth_studies/

    It is Bellevue (NYC,NY) that has set up a treatment program that I am sure can be referenced. Mount Sinai Hospital (NYC) also did research. These may be reference points for the doctors to enquire of.

    Sorry to hear about Talon. Petitions assending.

    Just goes to show that people are still suffering despite the seemingly distant tragic events of 2001.

    Prayers and best wishes from the Great White North.

    My sincere hope that Talon and all the brave first responders who so selflessly put their lives on the line each and every time they go to work, these folks have made a CHOICE to serve, protect, and risk their very lives for the rest of us. Many people idolize Athletes, Actors, Musicians, as celebrities, and hero's, my hero's have always been the brave soles who choose a career in the service of their country, or as a front line first responder like Police, Fire, Rescue, and all the other related services - Hero's each and every one of them!
