Anyone Avsim/Flightsim users getting viruses lately?

    Evening all.

Firstly, this is no slight against the websites in the title of the thread. These days everyone is open to online dangers.

Has anyone had any nasty little viruses recently? I've had a large amount of them, all after downloading files from the two sites mentioned in the title. Of course this could be coincidence and the sites are in fact completely unrelated, but whilst I have been able to catch and eliminate these things (really nasty keyloggers/trojans etc), some may fall prey if they go unaware.

If no-one else here has had the problem, then clearly my problems have no relation to the sites in question and it is just a coincidence.

One must be carefull. Antivirus programs are not perfect. I have one program that has a file that my AV keeps telling me its a virus, but i know it is not, and i am not the only one who has that issue with it, it does so because it has some code in it that to the AV apperas to be a virus signature, but it isnt. Hey this is the pathetic world we live in, isnt it just fun.

    Cheers

I've been using Avsim and Flightsim for a while and I haven't had any. I have McAfee and apart from the annoying pop-ups it gives me, I find the program quite relaible.

No problems here.. You might want to check your PC for rootkit activity.

Nope... no viruses/spyware here... But If you have any suspicion whatsoever, PLEASE PLEASE bring it to the attention of the System Admin/Manager of the website. Last thing we need is another hackster in Avsim!!

    Nothing I'm aware of.
I've been downloadig from Avsim, FlightSim and Simviation for several years without any inconvenience of this kind.
I use the free edition of Avast and I had no notice of malicious SW being present in the dowloads.
Make sure to sweep your entire system with a good product (or more than one) from a reliable producer.

    Good luck,
    E.

I never had any problems at both mentioned sites. When I upload something at Avsim, I get a message that my upload has been scanned and was virus free. So I'm sure they check all the uploads on virus and malware etc.

    Cheers,
