    CFS3 XP Compatibility Question

    Hello all,

I did some digging around at home and found a copy of a racing game i used to play on my windows 98. The thing is at the time i had CFS1 and the two games pretty much gelled together.

However with CFS3 for XP, will it act up if i re-install this original game for win98 or should I just leave it be by itself?

Installing the racing game should not effect CFS3, but you may have to try to run it in compatability mode for Win98. Compatability mode is not always successful. Also when you install it, right click on the installer (do not let it auto run) and install in compatability mod as well. Someone once told me this ensured some of the system files get installed in the right place for a Win98 program, but I do not know if that is true or not.

Also make a restore point before you install the older program.

Best bet is try to get a P4 and install win98 on it for older games.

    Cheers

    Which racing game AT?

I still run Grand Prix Legends - a fantastic simulation IMO. Another old product still being updated by a band of enthusiasts. For instance the complete Targa Florio circuit has just been relelased!

This is Need For Speed 3, Hot Pursuit Pat.

I loved it when I had my old PC up and running, but its no more, just like my CFS1. So I was trying to see if she would run with CFS3 and not cause me any type of problems is all.
