    It's a sad day...

...because FS9 has gone from my computer...

Turns out I hadn't used it in over a year, and the harddisk was getting very full indeed, so....

Still, good memories, here are a few:

    and Mustangs, lots of Mustangs...

and this was the last one I could find:

You can find most of my repaints for FSX/P3D in the library here on the outhouse.
For MFS paints go to flightsim.to

Indeed, some terrific memories if the screen shots tell only a small tale!

Jan Kees, I have seen them all except the B-17s, and I have to tell you that is a really classic shot! :ernae:

FSX is happily expanding, FS9 was about 35 Gb, so we now have room to move...

    Jan,
Thank you for all the Iwo Mustangs. They brought a time and place in history back to life. I have them all and they all live on in FS9 on my system! Lots of Jugs too! Thanks!

No one has to join the dark side. Just use 2 500gb drives. One for Fs9 and the other FSX. I did it and my simming has gotten much better. I get ticked at FSX take a break and flip over to FS9. Less stress and maximum fun and enjoyment:salute:.

Now that says it, very nicely.
I peek over at FSX every so often for the glitz, and then return to the sanity of FS9.
Jankees, thanks for all the FS9 repaints, they will live on in my sim.
Do not feel obliged never to slap a paint on another FS9 model, though!

    thank you guys.
I don't miss it, haven't used it for over a year...
and most of my recent paints (A2A P-51, WBS P-51, CS 727) will work in 9 as well, all you need to do is convert the textures to bmp with DXTbmp (and maybe make convert them back to 1024x1024), not too difficult I hope..

I think I'll go to the grave with the best FS MS has ever done on whatever system I have at the time. FS2004 continues to improve even nearly 7 years down the road. Planes are still be made for it and are of much better quality than earlier renditions. REX-2004 and for those that don't have that, it's Pablo Diaz's wonderful HDE clouds. New scenery is still being done. Frame rates are miles better than FSX (which I have BTW), anywhere. Landclass is much better than FSX. Though not resolute, when flying, it looks more real than cartooney FSX.

Uh-uh, FS2004 stays here. All of my longer treks are flown in FS2004, I only do 30-minute to one hour flights in FSX. The only real pleasure FSX gives me is that I can do much more resolute and realistic aircraft repaints with FSX native planes.

Thank you for all your hard work, you've certainly broadened my stable of Ponies to choose from.

Thanks for the instructions for using your FSX paints in FS9. Glad that I can continue enjoying your art!

    Sorry to hear that Jankees.

If you dont use it though, no use having it.

I love my FS9.. I keep it on a new 1TB exterior drive, along with FSX. I need them both, lol... If I had to make a choice, it would be FSX that went into the black hole. Something about FS9 that just seems more real to me. Doesnt have the cool materials and resolutions, but it has that 'feel' to it..

    Good flying man!

Yes they do convert very well. And speaking of which...didn't I see a new WBS P-51 repaint in the FSX section??
