    Always liked the ERJs, stunning visual model, love the texturing, but after the fiasco I had with their FS9 caravan, I vowed no more from feelthere. Besides, unless they have a quick start button, I doubt I'd have time to learn it, LOL.

    Bird looks promising, but i second MC's concern.... am i able to quickly start the bird, does the autopilot work in a normal operable way (Saitek Autopilot panel), and do other Saitek panels communicate with the bird as well. If not....i'll pass

    I've used a number of FT/Wilco jets over the years and have, for the most part, been impressed with the models and unimpressed with the customer service. The Caravan was a bit of an aberration - it certainly wasn't well received and took a number of patches to get right. However, if this one is as good as their recent E-Jets package, then it'll be well worth getting...

    ...next month.

    Well, actually they have something like this. You can select panel state in aircraft configurator to "running engines". Then, unless you have default FSX flight set to cold and dark, you can load aircraft and just fly. If you have default flight set to cold and dark, then load cessna first, start engine and switch aircraft to Emb.

    That's my experience with their previous E-Jets series (E-170/190). This one look pretty similar. Anyway, programming a route into FMC and flying this plane the way it is flown in reality is a different matter


    I've just bought this one, installer is 325MB (probably both FS9 and FSX packed together) and download speed is slow so still at least hour of waiting.

    Ok, so first impressions:

    download file is 325MB but is actually a zip that contains 2 installers, for FSX and FS9. FSX install requires 1,3GB HDD space. No pesky DRM stuff, only serial number required.

    You get aircraft configurator very similar to the one you get with Ejets, so you can set payload, assign shortcuts to custom functions, and adjust some other things. It's also possible to do some performance tweaking by changing refresh rate for various displays.

    Aircraft looks good. The exterior is nice and detailed with spec and bumpmaps. Interior is not as detailed and photorealistic as the latest PMDG aircraft, but it is comparable with the default FSX CRJ-700, which means it's quite good. All displays are smooth and readable, VC is fully functional. You also get 2D panels if you care, I don't. The panels are unfortunately 4:3 proportions only. There's also a HUD view, but it's fixed 2D only, and looks distorted on my 16:10 monitor. From what I've read on their forums, there are no plans to include it in VC. Pity, becuase it looks cool.

    All systems are modelled at similar level as in the Ejets series so there's nothing to complain. FMS with SID/STARs database and performance calculations, custom autopilot and autothrottle (sort of). Manual has 80 pages, not the biggest one that I've seen. It's more like tutorial with color pictures than AOM used in real world.

    A nice addition is CALL. It's interactive checklist, where you hear copilot saying each step from the list and waiting until you perform this action. Cool, but you still have to read the manual to know what to do next

    Performance is similar to other planes of its class, like Level-D 767 or previous E-170 from Feelthere. Not nearly as high as in default aircraft, but slightly better than in PMDG J41 or MD11 or Cessna Mustang because the graphics are less demanding.

    Overall, I like it

    Several big screenshots here. Remember, the HUD may look great, but it's 2D panel only so you won't see that in VC:

    I have the Wilco/Feelthere Legacy and its overall done well. However, more often than not I don't really have the time to do all the pre flight programming. I do always like to start engines manually but too often I have found that the all essential programming of the FMS - I usually do the cheat/short cut to save further time by loading the FSX flight programme - is a bit hit or miss working once ready to taxi and having to start all over again is a bit dispiriting! I find the POSKY Legacy visual model equal or better and can put up with no VC until such time as they release one - as they did with their ERJ-145.

    Well, I hadn't got any problems on 64 bit Windows 7 or Windows Vista with either this one or previous Ejets. It's not the product that doesn't support 64 bit but the producer doesn't offer support for 64 bit, as they claim everything was built and tested in 32 bit environment only. Weird marketing decision for me.

    Personally I just wish they'd get the correct model allied to correct paint job.

    The BA Connect fleet (G-EMBA thru G-EMBX, and ERJA thru ERJG) didn't have thrust reversers or the APU silencer!

    That doesn't mean it won't work; it only means that they don't have a 64bit system on which to test it, therefore no guarantees of compatibility, and no way to offer customer configuration support...

    ...just as none of them have a wide-screen monitor on which to develop wide-screen 2d panels.

    As a developer myself, I've invested >$10,000 in hardware and software over the years, for just those reasons.
