    FSX Native Space Shuttle

Just uploaded to SimV and Flightsim. She's a completely reworked shuttle from my old FS9 release. and , it's free !

    - Completely re-worked model and textures . New flight dynamics optimized for SP2/Acceleration to restore sub-orbital performance. Acheive Mach 4.65 and climb to just under 700,000 ft under your own power at max realism. Very stable re-entry dynamics with Shuttle like landing characteristics. DVC added with a camera view for bay window , custom gauge controlled effects, animated SRB and External Tank separations , bay doors, robot arm and payload, elevons, spoiler/rudder, body flap and gear w/ nosewheel steering - compiled with the FSXA SDK

You made it ? A space shuttle with a virtual cockpit ?
At first, just before reading your text, I thought you made just the external model, and then used the virtual cockpit from the spaceship made by Piglet (which looks great as well !!). I'll download this one tomorrow, can't wait to test it !
Thanks for your hard work ! :ernae:

Same here.. I kept taking a double look at the VC shot. Couldnt believe it. Even the control knobs are modelled on the panels..

    Nice!

Moe, its named atlantis-1.zip at flightsim. Or do a search with space shuttle. I did not appear under fsx files only -- don't know why unless the /sp2 part of the title caused it.

yes, i'll post it here at SOH.
the VC should look very familar (b737_800).
but i still need to teach myself how to make things clickable/touchable
perhaps with my next release i'll have started to figure that stuff out

Its easy. Let me know if you have a question on it and I can walk you through it.

In FSX, if you use existing code, such as 'lever_landing_gear', you would animate the lever, then open up FSX Tools, and assign the FSX Animation Tag assignment to the part, and note to also include the start and stop points of animation travel, such as point zero to point 100 key locations, then assign the Mouse Rect and locate the label (lever_landing_gear), and you should then have the landing gear lever fully functioning and clickable in the VC. Do that with all controls objects and you should then be good to go. Creating misc code for objects gets pretty easy once you learn how its written.

seems simple enough - i could select the throttle knob , which is actually linked to the animated throttle arm , open the attachtool , check mouserect and assign the lever tag from the pull down and then attach to geometry .
.... or does the attachpoint have to be on the animated part itself ?
    i hope it's that simple

    thanks for the nudge lionheart!
