    C-27j

    Excellent choice of subject.
I was assigned to the 46th Air Brigade of Italian Air Force, Pisa San Giusto airport and I had the chance to see the G222 and the C27 several times, during everyday operations and airshows. The Mini-Herc is incredibly agile and its demo routine is impressive.

Okay, here's how she looks today, The last two days were spent texture mapping the aircraft, both inside and out..

Today will be spent trying to figure out why none of my rotational animations are working, and applying the master texture set to the aircraft.

    Wow you guys work fast!

It's looking great. I suspect it should prove to be quite popular. I'm willing to bet it will end up on my must buy list.

It's not a matter of working fast, it's a matter of not sleeping.. Ask any developer and they'll say the dev diet consists of coffee, chocolate and valium...

valium??! that's for afterwards when the customers start to complain the nose is wrong or the color is off, LOL.
Myself, I prefer Mountain Dew over coffee, YEECH!

it's looking good, can't wait to see the final textures. :ernae:

I'm currently collapsing all the damn animation controllers which were set up as linear rotation controllers to the normal controllers that FSX likes... geez... 2 hours fiddling and trolling the net for something that takes about 10 minutes to fix! lol.

I must admit I'm more partial to Redbull, leftover pizza and optrex if I'm pulling an all nighter.

Thanks for the pics. It's interesting to see all those polygons.

I'd be interested to hear what you think about the weathering, too much, not enough...any hints and tips would be welcome..

It's hard to tell a lot from a single wing, but so far I'd say the weathering is spot-on. The streaking doesn't look overdone to me at all. Very nice job!

    Hi David,

Excellent work so far. If that weathering layer is at 100% opacity, make it say 60%. I believe the panels on the wings are internal tank inspection panels, it would probably be better not to make the dirt streaks from them as identical as they are now. They look nice but a bit on the heavy side. On the lower fuselage, however, that's a different matter. Most of the crap turn up there.

    Thanks

I'm not much into payware, but I may have to pry the wallet open for this one....

As far as the weathering issue is concerned- Don't forget to sun bleach it. I saw an Italian Spartan the other day that was well sun bleached. Also, if panels have been replaced, etc. they may either be bare primer, the original color not sun bleached or have some bad overspray. Not to mention nicks where bare metal shows through from bird strikes, mechanics tools, new screws, etc.

Thanks for the tips guys..much appreciated.. I'll make note of them once the rest of the models done..

Okay, I've put together both wings and am now working on the fuselage exterior... hopefully I'll have a finished RAF paint before bed...

Here's some new shots before I have dinner.

Italian Air Force markings (and slightly lighter skin due to bleaching I think.)

RAF wings done and weathered from above

RAF wings done and weathered below

The start of the fuselage with added slime lights... accurate, no...fun...most definately..

Stay tuned for more in a few hours.

This C-27J Teaser is a joy to fly. It needs a CAF SAR paint although. Well worth the price I paid. Thank you David and Iris Team for this Teaser.
