    Multiplayer Carrier Ops - Nimitz

I was just wondering if anyone would be interested in an adaption of my current multiplayer carrier ops mission for the USS Nimitz carrier that Javier released for FSX. If there's enough of an audience, I'll contact Javier and ask if I can make a new version of my mission with his carrier for all of you to enjoy .

Feel free to voice your thoughts, opinions, or suggestions, and be sure to tell me if you're interested .

    Thanks,

    Orion

Yes very much so... and, while your at it, him a little about getting the elevator fix out with the catapult steam vapor effects and deck crew members, too. If that all's not too much to ask.

    Thanks!

Not to bump my thread, but here's an update:

I'm planning on getting some major work done on the mission this weekend, and I've got a few questions for you guys:

    1. What time of day would you like? Morning? Evening? Noon? Night?
    2. What kind of weather would you like? Clear skies? Rainy? Foggy? Windy?

    Thanks,

    Orion

P.S. Be sure to post any other comments or suggestions you have .

    Mr. "Orion,"

Are you aware that Mr. Javier "Thrawn" is releasing a NEW release of the USS Nimitz HERE?
I mention this because there maybe features that you could now include in your missions that weren't available in the previous version.

But, I would like to see missions that allow for IMC "bolters" with inflight refueling and a mixture of fixed-wing and Helo carrier operations; if that's NOT too much to ask.

    Thanks!

James: Yes, I am planning on using the new version. As you may have noticed, I asked for permission to use the carrier in that exact thread... The mission will allow you to do any type of flying you like; whether it's flying a military jet, helicopter or even a commercial airliner. Whether you could get the airliner onto the carrier is another story... And I'll look into mid-air refueling...

Ryan: I'd like it, but I don't know about beginners :P.

    Edit: Yay, my 100th post!

As far as refueling goes, having an aircraft circling above the pattern would be cool to fudge refueling a bit. Get behind the aircraft near the assumed boom and hit the keyboard shortcut.

I love your single player missions so the more the better! BTW -- Is there a timetable for the WA state track? I have trouble finding it sometimes through the islands sometimes I have to fly the entire course and no luck.

    Yes,Yes, Yes...

Well, there was a similar refueling feature as an Easter egg in the Carrier Practice mission, so I'll look into how it works and see if I can get it working in my mission.

Tyler: I haven't done any single player missions (yet :P) - are you thinking of some other dev?

I think he is thinking of DSWO's great carrier tracks set - I have had trouble finding them in the San Juan islands from time-to-time - but hey, that's why we practiced EMCON, except in this case you are the good guy trying to find the carrier.

Orion - dusk or evening approaches (AKA "pinkies") give you the best of both worlds. If you do two sets, try a tough IMC (down to about 500/1).... but can you add a NAVAID to help out? Clicking on the "Request Position" link on the AI Carriers tab over and over again gets old.

    Thanks.

    Okay, update time:

Did a test with a friend of mine and all multiplayer functions are working correctly . All I have to do now is add the carrier, reward(s), cameras and all the other little goodies .

Here are a couple fun screenshots that I took when testing the mission setup:
