    Best screenshot/video capture utility?

Payware or freeware, either one. I've used FRAPS when I had FS9 and XP, but now I have FSX and Vista64, and a not very fast system, a laptop actually.

    Intel Core 2 Duo Processor P8400 (2.26GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 3MB L2 cache)
NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GS with 512MB of GDDR3 discrete video memory
    15.6” WXGA Glossy LCD (1366x768)
Genuine Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium (64-bit) SP1
    4GB (4096MB) DDR2 Memory (2 x 2048MB modules)
    320GB 7200RPM Seagate HD

    Suggestions?

I'm very happy with Fraps on my Vista system....though the default screenshot utility in FSX is very good too.

I've had a great deal of success with the Gadwin utility. The nice part is that you can set it up with your desired presets, and that's how it'll operate every time.

I use FastStone Capture, because it has the option to capture just the active window. (Otherwise, I get screenshots of my whole desktop which, with two monitors, is almost never what I want.) I use version 4.8, which is freeware. There are later freeware versions, but when you make a screenshot they produce a more noticeable stutter in FSX.

    Mostly I use payware FRAPS.

For some web articles, where I may need a screenshot of the current Photoshop screen I am working in, I prefer FSScreen. This is a very small freeware program, that will copy the screen every time you hit PrtScn and save a bitmap image to a folder of your choice.

It works for any sim or any screen, but do not overload it, it will not crash your computer, but it will crash itself.

Thanks for the replies, I went with FRAPS, since the demo seemed to work as well as (actually better) than it did in FS9.

What with the L-39, A2A Cub, and OZ's great Grand Canyon scenery, I need to start taking some screenshots, LOL!

    Thanks again.
