    Interesting Catalina find

    Read this story on another forum http://www.artificialowl.net/2009/07/abandoned-catalina-seaplane-50-years.html

    I then went looking in Google Earth and found this at these coordinates:

    28°05'27.02"N 34°36'30.93"E

    Google Earth still shows the aircraft basking under the Arabian sun, watching the tide roll in.

    You can enter that coordinates in regular Google and it is there as well.

    Hard to believe that shes been sitting there for 50 years, great find. Now all we have to do is hope someone will restore her.

    It could happen. Planes in far worse shape have been restored all the way to flying condition.
