Oldtimer Airshow at Hahnweide, Germany [pics]

Hey, just wanted to share some shots from the Oldtimertreffen Hahnweide 2009, been there for three days last weekend with my dad, it was great, had to build up the tent in rain on friday, but while mixed on saturday, it became great on sunday. Iīll just let the images speak their language...
All shots were done with a handheld compact camera (Sony DSC 150 W), so it was hard to get them sharp with zoom... I hope you enjoy them anyway:

The B-17 (Pink Lady) and BF-109 couldnīt land on the small field, and the Constellation was just flying by on itīs way from Hamburg to Salzburg, but still the displays were great. On the evenings, there was a light and sound show among the flightline, and on both, saturday and sunday morning, there were about 2 hours (7am to 9am) in which you could walk on the other side of the fence and have a very detailed look at all those planes.
The displays were amazing, too, they had the B-17 coming from Stuttgart on sunday while the 109 was there, too. Than the FW-190, Spitfire and P-40 took off, the german birds heading for the B-17 with the Spit on their tail. The Skyraider was amazing too, a 10 ton plane drawing wing vortices on the dusk sky over a small glider field is thrilling! They had some more great birds there I didnīt manage to get a shot off (Camera battery was empty on sunday morning), for example the Bleriot 11 (interesting flying display...), two more Me-108s, Pitts S12, Broussard, Sikorsky S-58 and so on... Will most likely be back there when it takes place in 2011 again!

Thanks for sharing Mr. Mugel! Nice collection of aircraft there, probably the best I've seen on an airshow here in Europe!

Wow! Great looking show. Nice collection of aircraft. Would love to make it over to Europe someday and catch a few airshows.

They just fly them different in Europe. Rules are different. You have all the warbirds that we don't get to see here in the states. But yes, we have some really good shows too.

It was the Breitling sponsored Super Constellation owned by the Super Constellation Flyers Association, more info here

I allways thought they couldnīt fly it this way here, with all the regulations we have here, too, but indeed I was surprised to see such displays!

That was a modified 400HP Yak 55, with three ropes of different lenghts... Was stunning to see them take off, and still with three Lo-100 gliders it had a climb rate better than any Cessna!
