Hi Smoothie,
Please look at the foto at the top of this page?
If the profileyou've given here is of Joseph Kehrle, than that site must have it wrong.
Cees
no profile i found is wrong, Kehrle was JG1, let me check my books, as i was working on an Fw190 profile a while back....
Cees,
I went through quite some books, but I'm a afraid I didn't find a profile from this particular aircraft.
Most units got re-equipped when they came to Katwijk. Therefore the aircraft was most probably quite new and finished in the standard RLM 74/75/76 scheme.
As it belonged to 5/JG1 the "Tatzelwurm" was red and the black 8 was outlined with a thin white line.
On this site you can find a profile from Max Bucholtz FW190 A-2 which was from the same period, same unit and stationed on the same location. In fact a picture form this particular aircraft can be found on the "Katwijk in Oorlog" site as well! (Put you mouse pointer on Germany and select Focke-Wulf FW190 A2).
I hope this helps,
Huub
closest i could find to the camouflage pattern is JG1 at Twenthe, note orange/red band was only a late war addition usually on defense of the reich aircraft...

De Focke-Wulf Fw 190 A-2 van Staffelkapitän Oberleutnant Max Buchholz. Except for the big bird on the fuselage the 'Schwarzen 8' from Unteroffizier Josef Kehrle of 5./JG1 must have looked quite similar. The model in the screenie is the Classics Hangar FW190 A-2 for FSX.

hmm looks as though the darker topside colour ends exactly where the canopy does.... wish they'd taken more photos back in the 40's
I'm not that far off then? This is the WoP FW-190 for FS9.

Nice Cees! I see you found your "Tatzelwurm". That's a very nice thing from Allesandro Biaggi's profile site. When you move your mouse over the marking they pop-up an you can save them by right-clicking them with your mouse.
Cheers,
Huub
Huub,
Can you give a link to that site, please?
Cees
Oops I thought it was in my previous post, but obviously I have forgotten it.... must be age
Well this is the link: http://www.warbirdprofiles.com/hidden.htm
As said before click on Germany selcect FW190 and finally FW190 A-2.
Cheers,
Huub
