    How hard would it be?

To change this callsign to N8068C? I don't have PSP or Photoshop but I do have Gimp. I'm not really familiar with layers and alpha channels etc but would it be tough to change the callsign as well as add a US flag on this thing?

I don't know very much about textures and layers and Photoshop et al, but using GIMP I did almost exactly what you are thinking of with the skin in another sim (CFS3). I opened up the skin texture and used the eyedropper tool to select the color adjacent to the callsign, then used the bucket to fill in the letters. This created a solid color background on which, using the text tool, I wrote in the new callsign. Then I pasted a flag where I wanted it. All of this was done on the same layer and the new skin looked as I'd hoped it would in game.

Ryan, is the texture in bitmap form or dds? It appears to have bump mapping, etc and if so, someone with expertise in working in that realm would have to do it, otherwise, if it's just a simple bitmap, send it to me and I'll make the switch.

    The textures are .DDS files.

    What can be done?

Are you sure the value you want to change is in the textures at all? Have you tried changing the ATC Call Sign on the Select Aircraft dialog (might have to go to the details page, can't remember - I've been trying to mentally block out that dialog :-> )

Do you want that above reg number on that livery? I can do that and change the color of the paint. :ernae:

I would love you for that LOL!

Essentially I'm looking for the same paint but with N8068C as the callsign and the US flag on the tail.

Hey Bob, when you get this done, how about posting a link to it? (if you store it on your 'web space'). It will save me the time of making this switch as well. I usually do this in Photo Shop and change many of my stock foreign liveries to U.S. reg's but just have not gotten around to the Duke yet.

    Ooooh! Thanks a bunch!

Yep, the reason the tail number is significant is because it's the first plane I ever flew, and the start of my PPL. I guess I should say its the tail number I use on VATSIM for all GA flights
